The OBDSTAR N026 converts the 3-pin SYM diagnostic connector on the vehicle side to a 16-pin OBD2 port (J1962) on the device side. The compact housing fits directly onto the three-pin connector of the moped, which is typically located under the seat or behind a panel near the dashboard.
SYM mopeds don't have a built-in OBD2 port. The adapter passes through SYM's proprietary pin configuration to the corresponding OBD2 pins without any active electronics in the adapter itself. The signals that run across these lines are standard in this vehicle category, including the K-line; which protocol a specific model uses varies by variant.
The adapter simply makes the port accessible — nothing more. Available functions depend on your OBDSTAR device's software for the relevant SYM model and year. The source lists three model series without production years; outside that specification, only the three-pin connector matters.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and Functions
When paired with an OBDSTAR device that supports motorcycles, the adapter enables the following operations on SYM mopeds with the three-pin port.
Control units you can access
- Engine control unit: the moped's ECU is accessed via the three-pin diagnostic connector.
- Vehicle system via K-line: communication runs through looped signal lines; the protocol used varies by model.
What you can do
- Read diagnostic trouble codes: retrieve stored fault codes from the engine control unit using your diagnostic device.
- Clear diagnostic trouble codes: remove stored codes from the ECU memory after fixing a fault.
- Read live data: monitor real-time engine data such as RPM, temperature and sensor readings while the vehicle is running.
- Connect the brand-specific connector: communicate with the vehicle system via the 3-pin SYM connector without modifying your moped.
- Important: which of these functions are actually available depends on the support your OBDSTAR device offers for that model and year.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The three-pin SYM diagnostic connector is what matters, not the model name. The source lists three model series without production years. Check the connector instead: if it has three pins and no 16-pin version, this is the right adapter.
SYM:
- Fiddle: moped models with 3-pin OBD connector.
- Orbit: moped models with 3-pin OBD connector.
- Symphony: moped models with 3-pin OBD connector.
