The OBDSTAR M084 is an adapter cable that converts a Scania 4-pin OBD connection to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable is intended for use with Scania trucks with combustion engines and enables connection of OBDSTAR diagnostic tools or programmers to vehicles equipped with a vehicle-specific 4-pin diagnostic port instead of a standard OBD2 port. The round 4-pin Scania connector on the vehicle side connects to the factory diagnostic port of the vehicle.
The M084 adapter cable provides the physical signal pass-through between the Scania-specific port and the connected OBDSTAR diagnostic device. Through the cable, diagnostic signals — including communication protocols such as K-line — are transmitted to the reader, enabling vehicle systems like the engine management to be read. The cable itself does not add any signal processing but solely ensures the mechanical and electrical connection between both connector types.
