The OBDSTAR M028 is the adapter cable for the shared diagnostic port on PGO motorcycles, which consists of two separate 6-pin connectors. Both connect to the vehicle simultaneously; on the other end sits a single 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector for your OBDSTAR diagnostic device.

Because PGO splits the diagnostic connection across two connectors, the signal lines are only complete when both are plugged in. The cable combines them into the OBD2 output, including the K-line communication circuit and power pins. The cable itself contains no active electronics.

This allows the device to communicate with the engine control unit (ECU) of the motorcycle. The diagnostic functions themselves come from your connected OBDSTAR device and its software, not from the adapter cable.

KEY BENEFITS

Both connectors at once — the 6+6-pin port is engaged simultaneously, ensuring all required signal lines are available.
For PGO models without OBD2 — vehicles that don't have a standard diagnostic port can now be accessed.
Passive design — without active electronics, the risk of cable-related failures is minimal.
Mechanically stable connection — the construction keeps both connectors securely in place during diagnostics.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Both connectors must be connected — if either is left unplugged, not all signal lines will be bridged.
PGO 6+6-pin port only — other brands or connector types are not supported by this cable.
OBDSTAR devices only — use with diagnostic tools from other manufacturers is not supported.
Does not expand vehicle coverage — available functions are determined by your device and software, not the cable.

Applications and Features

Through the combined 6+6-pin connector, you gain access to the engine electronics of your PGO motorcycle.

Control units you can reach

  • Engine Control Unit (ECU): the engine management system connected via K-line to the shared diagnostic port.
  • Other modules: whether additional units are accessible varies by model and device.

What you can do

  • Read fault codes: retrieve stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the motorcycle's ECU.
  • Clear fault codes: remove codes from the ECU memory after diagnosis and repair.
  • Vehicle identification: query vehicle and system information via the K-line connection, such as the VIN number and ECU data.
  • Read live data: monitor sensor readings and engine parameters in real-time over the active communication line.
  • Please note: which functions you get depends on the connected OBDSTAR device and its accompanying software.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The 6+6-pin diagnostic port is what matters, not the model alone. The PGO models listed below are equipped with this port; only confirmed applications are shown.

PGO:

  • Bugrider 250: (2004–present)
  • Gmax 300i: (2012–present)
  • T-Rex 50: (2005–present)
  • T-Rex 110: (2005–present)
💡
Good to know: On PGO models, the 6+6-pin diagnostic port is typically located under the seat or behind a removable panel; your vehicle manual provides the exact location. Verify that your motorcycle has two separate 6-pin connectors before ordering.
