The OBDSTAR M038 connects the 4-pin diagnostic connector on MV Agusta motorcycles to a standard 16-pin OBD2 port (J1962). This compact adapter consists of two separate connector pieces that work together to establish communication between your bike and OBDSTAR diagnostic equipment.
MV Agusta uses a proprietary 4-pin vehicle diagnostic port on the models covered here. This cable bridges that connection to the universal OBD2 standard that OBDSTAR devices recognize, passing through diagnostic protocols like the K-line. The cable is a passive signal bridge — all data processing happens in the connected diagnostic tool.
This gives you access to the control modules connected to that port. What you can read or clear from them depends on your software licenses and the capabilities of your own diagnostic device.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and functionality
Through the 4-pin port, you can access the control units of your MV Agusta.
Control units you can reach
- Motorcycle control units: the units connected via K-line to the 4-pin diagnostic port.
- Other systems: which units respond per model depends on your device's coverage.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: retrieve stored diagnostic trouble codes from the control units and display them on your device.
- Clear fault codes: erase present trouble codes, provided your software license supports this function.
- Live data: monitor real-time sensor readings and system parameters while the engine is running.
- Address control units: use the signal connection between the 4-pin port and the OBD2 interface to communicate with the available control units.
- Please note: which functions are available is determined by the licenses and capabilities of your OBDSTAR device.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The 4-pin diagnostic connector is what matters, not the model itself. The MV Agusta models listed below are equipped with this connector; only confirmed models are shown.
