The OBDSTAR M060 is an adapter cable that converts a Mercury 10-pin diagnostic connector to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) plug. The cable is intended for use with Mercury marine engines equipped with a proprietary 10-pin diagnostic connector and therefore cannot be directly connected to an OBD2 diagnostic cable. The adapter cable is exclusively compatible with OBDSTAR diagnostic devices or programmers.

The cable connects the 10-pin Mercury diagnostic connector on the motorboat to the 16-pin OBD2 input of the OBDSTAR device. Through this connection, signals from the Mercury Engine Control Unit (ECU) are transmitted to the diagnostic device, allowing diagnosis of the outboard or inboard engine. The pin configuration of the Mercury 10-pin connector differs from the OBD2 standard; the adapter cable ensures correct pin assignment so communication via the CAN bus or K-line protocol can be established.

  • Live data measurement: Display of real-time engine parameters such as RPM, engine temperature, and fuel pressure directly from the control unit of the outboard or inboard motor.
  • ECU communication: Establishing a diagnostic communication connection via CAN bus or K-line between the OBDSTAR device and the Mercury engine management ECU.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The compatibility below is based on the use of the Mercury 10-pin diagnostic connector in marine applications. Only Mercury motorboat engines equipped with the 10-pin diagnostic connector are supported.

Mercury:
