The OBDSTAR IScan Japan is a reader specifically developed for diagnosing Japanese motorcycles from the brands Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha. The system runs on an Android 5.1.1 operating system and is operated via a 5.0 inch capacitive touchscreen. The hardware consists of an RK3128 quad-core processor and a 2600mA Battery. The IScan Japan offers extensive diagnostic capabilities, including reading fault codes, live data, and performing actuator tests. A software license of 1 year is included with purchase.
This reader supports more than 25 service and maintenance functions, ranging from resetting the engine control module to calibrating sensors. Functionality can be further expanded with optional modules, such as the P001 Kit for key programming and immobilizer management. The IScan Japan is equipped with integrated technical documentation and help files that assist the user in diagnosis. Diagnostic reports can be generated and saved for record-keeping.
Diagnostic functions:

- Request ECU information: Displays detailed information from the control unit, such as software version and part number.
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears fault codes (DTCs) from all present electronic systems.

Engine and Drivetrain:
- Resetting engine control module (ECM): Restores the engine control module to factory settings to clear stored errors or adaptive values.
- Learning crankshaft position sensor: Synchronizes the crankshaft position sensor with the control module, necessary after component replacement for correct engine timing.
- Initializing torque: Resets the base values for the engine torque calculation.
- Resetting adaptive values (LAF): Resets the self-learning values of the air-fuel mixture.
- Resetting oxygen sensor values (S02FB): Restores the learning values of the oxygen sensor.
- Resetting ethanol index value: Resets the value indicating the ethanol concentration in the fuel.
Transmission and Clutch:
