The OBDSTAR M077 is the adapter cable for the 19-pin round FPT engine diagnostic port. On the other end is a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector that plugs directly into your OBDSTAR device. On the vehicle side, the cable connects to the engine diagnostic port of your vehicle or machine.

FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technologies) is an engine platform used in vehicles from brands within the Stellantis group and related manufacturers. The diagnostic protocols K-line and CAN run through this port. The cable itself doesn't process signals; it simply provides the correct pin translation between the FPT port and the OBD2 interface.

What the cable unlocks is the engine control unit (ECU). Non-engine systems such as transmission or chassis control are not accessible through this port. Which engine functions are actually available depends on the software of your own OBDSTAR device.

KEY BENEFITS

Access to the FPT engine port — the manufacturer's proprietary 19-pin connector becomes compatible with a standard OBDSTAR diagnostic device.
K-line and CAN — both communication protocols are passed through to the engine control unit.
Stable round connector — the 19-pin round plug connects precisely, keeping the connection stable during diagnostics.
Works beyond road vehicles — alongside commercial vans, the FPT platform is also found in agricultural and construction machinery with this port.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

Engine systems only — transmission and chassis control are not accessible through this port.
Vehicle must have the FPT port — vehicles without the 19-pin engine diagnostic port are not supported, even within the same model range.
OBDSTAR devices only — equipment from other manufacturers cannot be connected with this cable.
Coverage depends on your device — whether ECU programming and other functions are available is determined by the OBDSTAR device or programmer you use.

Applications and functionality

Access the engine control unit through the 19-pin FPT port.

Control units you can reach

  • Engine Control Unit (ECU): the FPT engine control module, accessible via K-line or CAN.
  • Non-engine systems: transmission and chassis control are not accessible through this diagnostic port.

What you can do

  • Manage fault codes: read and clear diagnostic trouble codes from the engine control unit via the FPT diagnostic port.
  • Measure live data: retrieve real-time sensor and actuator readings from the engine via the ECU connection.
  • ECU programming: perform software updates or recoding of the engine control unit with compatible OBDSTAR programmers.
  • System identification: read vehicle and ECU identification data, including software and hardware versions of the engine unit.
  • Important note: programming functions require an OBDSTAR device that supports that feature; availability varies by vehicle.

Compatible vehicles and applications

What matters is the 19-pin FPT engine diagnostic port, not the model. The vehicles and machines listed below are equipped with an FPT engine and this port. If in doubt, first check the connector on your vehicle.

Fiat:

  • Ducato (3rd generation): (2006–present) — with FPT combustion engine

Iveco:

  • Daily (V / VI generation): (2011–present) — with FPT combustion engine

Case IH / New Holland:

  • Agricultural and construction equipment: with FPT engine platform and 19-pin diagnostic port
💡
Good to know: The 19-pin FPT diagnostic port is typically located in the engine bay or inside the cab near the driver's side, depending on the vehicle type and model year.Verify that your vehicle has the 19-pin round FPT port before ordering.
