The OBDSTAR M037 converts the 4-pin Ducati diagnostic connector to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) port. The 4-pin side connects to your motorcycle's factory connector, while the OBD2 side plugs directly into your OBDSTAR diagnostic device.
Ducati fitted a proprietary 4-pin connector on many models instead of the universal OBD2 port. This adapter cable maps that pin configuration to the corresponding OBD2 pins, allowing your diagnostic tool to communicate with the engine control unit (ECU) using the vehicle's native communication protocol. The exact protocol varies by model; the cable itself performs no active signal processing.
What you gain is diagnostic access to the ECU. Advanced functions like programming or coding depend entirely on your diagnostic device's software and licensing—not on the cable itself.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and Features
Through the 4-pin connector, you can access the engine control unit of your Ducati.
Control units you can reach
- Engine Control Unit (ECU): the control module of the engine management system, connected to the 4-pin diagnostic connector.
- Other units: whether additional units are accessible varies by model and device.
What you can do
- Read fault codes (DTCs): retrieve stored and active diagnostic trouble codes from the engine management system.
- Clear fault codes: remove codes from the ECU memory after diagnosis or repair.
- Stream live data: monitor sensor readings and driving parameters in real-time via the diagnostic connection.
- ECU programming and coding: adjust ECU parameters or program control units, depending on your OBDSTAR device's software license.
- Important: which of these functions are available depends on your vehicle model and your OBDSTAR device's license.
Compatible vehicles and applications
