TheOBDSTAR M002A is a ground cable with battery clamp on one side and a connection on the GND inputfrom your OBDSTAR device to the other. The clamp attaches to the negative terminal of the battery or to a suitable ground point on the vehicle.

The cable is designed to establish a stable ground reference during diagnostic and programming work. By bringing the device and vehicle to the same zero potential, it minimizes voltage fluctuations and signal interference during read and write operations.

The M002A is a supplementary accessory, not a power source or data connection — it provides grounding only. Which procedures you can perform depends on your device's software capabilities.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The GND input of your device is what matters, not the vehicle model. The source lists no makes or model years: the clamp goes on the negative terminal or a ground point and is therefore brand-independent.

Vehicles with 12V battery or suitable ground point: that's where the clamp is attached.
OBDSTAR equipment with GND input: the device side fits only on that connection.

💡

Good to know: Place the clamp on a clean and undamaged contact point: dirt or corrosion on the negative terminal or ground point actually worsens the reference, especially during critical write operations. Check before ordering whether your OBDSTAR device has a separate GND input.
