The OBDSTAR M002 is a power cable with battery clamps on one end and a DC connector on the other. The clamps connect directly to the 12V battery — red to positive, black to negative — and the DC connector plugs into the power input of your OBDSTAR device.

The cable is designed to power the host device independently of the OBD port. The cable incorporates an in-line fuse that protects both the device and battery against short circuits and overcurrent. This makes it suitable for bench work and key programming outside the vehicle. The M002 provides power only and does not establish data communication with the vehicle. Diagnostic work still requires a separate data connection, and which functions you can perform depends on your device's software.

What you can do

Powering on the workbench: Supply 12V from a battery to the host device for diagnostics and programming outside the vehicle.
Programme keys without a vehicle: Edit keys or immobiliser modules when there is no car nearby.
Supplementary power during diagnostics: Supply power to the device when the OBD port provides no or insufficient voltage.
Short-circuit protection: Protect the device via the inline fuse against spikes and shorts.
Please note: The cable adds no functionality; what you can perform remains dependent on your OBDSTAR device.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The DC power input of your device is the determining factor, not the vehicle model. The source lists no makes or model years: the cable connects to a 12V battery and is therefore make-independent.

Vehicles with 12V battery: The clamps attach to the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
OBDSTAR host equipment with DC input: The device end fits equipment with the corresponding power input.

💡

Good to know: Always connect the red clamp to the positive terminal first, then the black clamp to the negative terminal. Before use, check that the fuse in the line is intact; a blown fuse blocks power completely and is simple to replace. Before ordering, verify that your device has a DC power input that matches this connector.
