The OBDSTAR M000A is a 16-pin OBD2 extension cable measuring 400 cm in length. One end features a male OBD2 connector that plugs into your vehicle's diagnostic port; the other end has a female OBD2 connector where you attach your existing diagnostic tool's main cable.
The cable exists to bridge distance: all 16 pins are passed through one-to-one, ensuring both power lines and communication buses — including CAN and K-line — flow without interruption. No setup or configuration is required; the cable simply sits between them.
The extension cable doesn't alter communication itself. It unlocks no additional systems and adds no vehicle coverage; what you can read or program remains determined by your own diagnostic device.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and Features
The extension cable passes all OBD2 port lines through unchanged.
Control units you can access
- All systems on the OBD2 port: the cable carries all 16 pins through, so the same control modules remain accessible as with a direct connection.
- Power lines: the voltage from the OBD2 port flows uninterrupted through to the main cable and device.
What you can do
- Bridge the distance: create four meters of space between vehicle and device, allowing you to work outside the cabin.
- Program keys remotely: hold the key near the device while the vehicle stays connected during IMMO procedures.
- ECU programming outside the vehicle: set your laptop or tablet on a stable work surface during flash or coding work.
- Take measurements: keep the device in a fixed location while you measure at the vehicle.
- Important note: the cable extends the connection only; all functionality depends on your own OBDSTAR diagnostic tool.
Compatible vehicles and applications
What matters is the 16-pin OBD2 port, not the make or model. The source lists no specific brands or model years: the cable is an extension between the standard OBD2 connector and the main cable of your diagnostic device.
- Vehicles with 16-pin OBD2: the cable fits any standard OBD2 diagnostic connector.
- OBDSTAR equipment: compatible with the main cable of any OBDSTAR diagnostic reader or programmer.
