Diagnostic functions

The reader device offers full diagnostics on CFMOTO motorcycles through an intuitive menu structure. The functions below can be performed on the supported vehicle systems.

• Read fault codes: Read stored and current fault codes from the ECU with corresponding descriptions.
• Clear fault codes: Remove fault codes after completed repair or inspection.
• Live data stream: Real-time display of sensor and component values in text, waveform, or gauge chart.
• Datalogging: Recording and playback of live data for analysis of intermittent faults.
• Actuator test: Activating actuators and components to check their operation.
• Coding: Coding control modules after replacement or adjustment.
• Automatic VIN recognition: Automatically identifying the vehicle based on the VIN number.
• Error guidance and technical bulletins: Support information and diagnostic assistance for fault codes and components.

Key and EEPROM functions

The IScan CFMOTO supports key programming for CFMOTO motorcycles, allowing new or replacement keys to be linked to the vehicle.

• Program keys: Adding or replacing keys for CFMOTO motorcycles via the immobilizer system.

Service and maintenance functions

The diagnostic device supports multiple service and maintenance functions for CFMOTO motorcycles. The availability of individual functions may vary by model and year.

Engine and drivetrain

• Service interval reset: Resetting the maintenance counter after performed service.
• Update total operating hours: Updating the recorded operating hours in the control system.
• Update total fuel consumption: Updating the cumulative fuel consumption value in the ECU.

Transmission and drivetrain

• Learn clutch position: Teaching the reference position of the clutch after maintenance or replacement.
• Learn shift position: Teaching the shift positions for correct operation of the transmission system.

Other service and maintenance functions

• Component replacement service mode: Activating service mode for replacing or renewing components.
• Program keys: Programming new or replacement keys for the immobilizer system.

• ECU settings: Adjusting and configuring parameters in the ECU.

• TPMS: Functions for the tire pressure monitoring system.
• Reset maintenance light: Turning off the maintenance indicator light after service.

Supported vehicle brands

By default, the Diagnostic Tool is tuned for CFMOTO. With the optional universal motorcycle adapter (N004), the device can be used on several other motorcycle brands.

Optional hardware modules are available for additional deployment options that expand the device's working range.

Hardware modules and accessories

• Multifunction jumper cable (M003A): Jumper cable for various diagnostic connections.
• Universal motorcycle adapter (N004): Adapter for expansion to, among others, Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, KTM, Piaggio, Vespa, and Yamaha.
• Grounding cable (M002A): Cable for grounding the device during diagnosis.

License information

The software license of the OBDSTAR IScan CFMOTO is focused on CFMOTO diagnosis and key programming. Upon purchase, a license period is provided that enables software updates and full functionality.

• License period: Upon purchase, the software license is valid for 1 year, including updates within this period.
• Software updates: Updates add support for new CFMOTO models, additional diagnostic and service functions, and bug fixes within the existing software.
• Extended functions: An active license is required for key programming, online updates via wifi, and remote assistance.
• After license expiration: The device continues to work with the last installed software version, but new updates and expansions require license renewal.
