De Jaltest JT2001 is een digitale multimeter met handmatige bereikkeuze. Elk meetbereik staat afzonderlijk op de draaischakelaar. Aan de onderzijde zitten drie meetbussen, gemerkt 10A MAX, COM en V mA µA. Boven de knop zitten een HOLD/SEL-toets en een toets voor de schermverlichting, met daarboven een LCD-scherm met drie cijfers.
Op de knop staan de bereiken voor gelijkspanning van 200 mV tot 250 V en voor wisselspanning in 200 V en 250 V. Gelijkstroom loopt in vier stappen van 2000 µA tot 10 A, weerstand in zes stappen van 200 Ω tot 200 MΩ. Verder zijn er standen voor de diodetest, de doorverbindingstest en een NCV-stand die wisselspanning meldt zonder dat de bedrading open hoeft.

Toepassingen en functionaliteiten
De JT2001 is een handmeter voor het doormeten van bedrading, zekeringen en voedingen. Alles wat het instrument kan, staat op de draaischakelaar afgedrukt. De meetbereiken per stand staan verderop onder Meetbereiken en toepassingen.
Toetsen en meetbussen
- HOLD/SEL: Waarde vasthouden, functie kiezen.
- Schermverlichting: Aparte toets naast het scherm.
- 10A MAX: Gezekerd, max. 10 seconden.
- COM: Massabus, zwart snoer.
- V mA µA: Gezekerd op 200 mA max.
- Scherm: LCD, drie cijfers, APO en DC.

- Spanning meten: Gelijk- en wisselspanning.
- Stroom meten: Gelijkstroom tot 10 A.
- Weerstand meten: Tot 200 MΩ.
- Diode testen: Eigen stand.

Zo gebruikt u hem
- Snoeren plaatsen: Zwart in COM, rood in de juiste bus.
- Stand kiezen: Draai de knop naar het bereik.
- Meten: Zet de meetpennen op het circuit.
- Vasthouden: Zet de waarde vast met HOLD/SEL.
- Terugzetten: Rood snoer terug naar V mA µA.
Meetbereiken en toepassingen
Bepalend is wat u wilt meten, niet het typenummer. De JT2001 meet de grootheden hieronder, elk in de bereiken die op de draaischakelaar staan.
Spanning:
- Gelijkspanning (V): 200 mV, 2000 mV, 20 V, 200 V en 250 V.
- Wisselspanning (V~): 200 V en 250 V.
Stroom en weerstand:
- Gelijkstroom (A): 2000 µA, 20 mA, 200 mA en 10 A.
- Weerstand (Ω): 200 Ω, 2000 Ω, 20 kΩ, 200 kΩ, 20 MΩ en 200 MΩ.
Overige standen:
- Diodetest: Eigen stand met het diodesymbool.
- Doorverbindingstest: Eigen stand met het zoemersymbool.
- NCV: Meldt wisselspanning in de buurt van de meetkop.
Verschil met de JT2002 en JT2003
De drie Jaltest-multimeters verschillen in bereikkeuze, meetbussen, veiligheidscategorie en extra standen. De JT2001 is de enige met volledig handmatige bereikkeuze en de enige met een NCV-stand.
- Jaltest JT2002: Automatische bereikkeuze (Autorange) met RANGE-toets, vier meetbussen, CAT IV 600V en CAT III 1000V. Extra standen voor wisselstroom, capaciteit, frequentie met inschakelduur en temperatuur in °C en °F. Vier cijfers. Met thermokoppel type K en meetadapter.
- Jaltest JT2003: True RMS, behuizing bedrukt met IP65 en een ingebouwde zaklamp. Aparte A-bus tot 20 A naast een bus voor µA en mA tot 600 mA. Standen LoZ, LPF, Motor, PEAK en AC+DC. Vier cijfers met balkschaal van 0 tot 60. Met zwart opbergetui met rits.
