The Autool PT530 is a digital air and vacuum tester with a measuring range of −100 to +300 kPa and an accuracy of ±0.25% of full scale. It measures vacuum in the intake manifold and brake booster, crankcase pressure and exhaust back pressure, with a wider range than the PT520.

With two inputs (IN1 pressure, IN2 vacuum) you can also see the difference between two measuring points. It is designed for work under the bonnet: a magnet on the rear, illuminated buttons, a light at the top and a 2.8-inch backlit display. It is supplied in a carry case.

Applications and functions

The PT530 is intended for workshops that regularly measure low air and vacuum pressures and need a robust tester for working under the bonnet.

Where you connect it

  • Intake manifold: Engine vacuum as a first indication of a running problem.
  • Brake booster: Whether the booster holds vacuum.
  • Crankcase: Pressure caused by blow-by past the piston rings.
  • Exhaust: Back pressure in the exhaust system.

Measuring functions

  • IN1 and IN2: Pressure and vacuum at the same time, with the difference.
  • Max and Min: Hold the highest and lowest value.
  • Zero point: Set the tester to zero before measuring.
  • Memory: Store up to 29 measurements.

How to use it

  1. Fitting batteries: Four AAA batteries.
  2. Setting zero: Set the tester to zero with no pressure connected.
  3. Connecting: Attach the test hose to the matching adapter on IN1 or IN2.
  4. Hanging: Secure the tester with the magnet to a metal part.
  5. Measuring and storing: Read the value and store it if required.

Good to know: Use IN1 and IN2 simultaneously on either side of a filter or valve. The difference shows directly whether the component creates too much resistance, without having to compare two separate measurements.
