The Jaltest JDC223.9 connects a vehicle with a 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic port to a Jaltest interface of the V9 generation in the RP1210 version. On the vehicle side is a light grey trapezium-shaped OBD2 plug with a black contact block and sixteen brass contact pins. On the interface side is a light grey 26-pin DB26 connector with female contacts in three rows and a knurled screw on each side.

Between them runs 150 cm of black round cable, with a white cable label bearing the RP1210 designation just before the DB26 plug. The official description is OBD (V9) diagnostic cable, RP1210. The cable provides the physical connection; which control units you can reach depends on the interface and the software you run on it. For the round green 9-pin Deutsch connector there is the JDC227.9, with the same interface side.

ADVANTAGES

✔Connects the 16-pin OBD2 port directly to a Jaltest interface of the V9 generation.
✔At 150 cm, you lay the interface from the diagnostic port onto the driver's seat.
✔The two knurled screws hold the DB26 plug in place while driving and during test starts.
✔You can recognise the RP1210 version by the white cable label just before the DB26 plug.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕Only for the rectangular 16-pin OBD2; for a round green 9-pin Deutsch, the JDC227.9 fits.
RP1210 is a property of the interface, not of the cable; the cable does not open any additional protocols.
✕The interface side is a 26-pin DB26 connector; on an interface with a different connector, the cable does not fit.
✕Which control units you read out is determined by the software behind the interface.

Applications and functionality

The cable forms the link between the diagnostic connector in the vehicle and the interface. What you read out afterwards is determined by the software behind the interface.

Control units you can access

  • Control units: According to the interface software.
  • Vehicle side: 16-pin OBD2, male.
  • Interface side: 26-pin DB26, RP1210, V9.

What you can do

  • Connect: couple the OBD2 to the DB26 input.
  • Secure: knurled screws secure the DB26.
  • Extend: 150 cm to a convenient workplace.

How to use it

  1. Check the connection: locate the rectangular 16-pin OBD2 port.
  2. Couple interface: Insert the DB26 plug into the interface.
  3. Tighten: Tighten both knurled thumbscrews.
  4. Couple the vehicle: insert the OBD2 plug into the port.
  5. Read out: Start the software and select the vehicle.

Compatible devices and applications

What matters is the port in the vehicle, not the brand. Wherever there is a 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic port and you work with a Jaltest interface of the V9 generation in the RP1210 version, this cable makes the connection.

Choosing between the two RP1210 cables:

  • Rectangular 16-pin OBD2: the JDC223.9, this cable.
  • Round green 9-pin Deutsch: the JDC227.9.
  • Interface side: Both have the same 26-pin DB26, RP1210, V9.
💡
Good to know: the JDC223.9 and the JDC227.9 differ only on the vehicle side; at 150 and 152 cm they are practically the same length. Check which diagnostic port is in the vehicle before ordering.
