The Jaltest OBD401 is the adapter between the 38-pin OBD1 diagnostic connector of the Iveco Daily and the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the vehicle side is a round black sleeve with a keying lip, which holds a dense array of gold-plated round pins; on the interface side is the OBD2 housing marked OBD401. The whole measures 12 cm and there is no cable attached.
The adapter passes the communication lines of the Daily through to the Jaltest Link. This gives you access to the ABS 5.3 braking system, which Jaltest lists for the Turbodaily generation; extended engine diagnostics are not part of the coverage for this generation. The 16-pin connector became mandatory for diesel vans from 1 January 2004, so on a Daily from after that changeover you do not need this adapter. It falls under Jaltest CV.

Via this connection, the Jaltest software gives access to the control unit present on this Daily generation. The coverage is more limited than on the later OBD2 models; the unit and functions listed below belong to the CV coverage of Jaltest.

- Start the software: Open Jaltest CV and connect the Jaltest Link.
- Read out: Select the Daily and read out the ABS 5.3.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector determines it, not the model. This adapter fits the Iveco Daily with the round 38-pin diagnostic connector from before the OBD2 era. Jaltest includes the generations below in its coverage. The end year follows from the introduction of the 16-pin connector for diesel vans on 1 January 2004.

- Daily III (3rd generation): Approx. 1999 to 2004.
