The Jaltest JDC565.9 connects the 12-pin diagnostic connector of Mitsubishi and Caterpillar forklift trucks to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the machine side is the 12-pin plug, located in or under the operator's position; on the interface side is the OBD2 housing. The cable measures 30 cm and is specified for the Jaltest Link V9.

With the cable connected, the Jaltest software reaches the central computer VCM4, VCM6 and VCM15DN and the instrument panel MP. On the heavier versions the engine controllers 1204E and 1204F and the exhaust gas aftertreatment SCR/DEF are added; on the lighter trucks it remains limited to the central computer and the instrument panel. The cable is covered by Jaltest MHE.

PLUS POINTS

✔One cable for two brands: Jaltest supports both Mitsubishi and Caterpillar with this connection within the MHE coverage.
✔Reaches the central computer (VCM4, VCM6 and VCM15DN), with fault codes, measured values and maintenance.
✔On the heavy-duty versions also the engine controller (1204E and 1204F) and the exhaust gas aftertreatment (SCR/DEF).

POINTS TO NOTE

✕Not every model has an engine controller in the coverage; for the FD40N and FD50(C)N only the central computer and the instrument panel are included, for the FD100N2 the engine controllers are included.
✕The maintenance function is not available for the instrument panel (MP) and the engine controller 1204F (PDL); the latter also has no additional actions.
✕Only for the 12-pin connector; Mitsubishi and Caterpillar also supply machines with a different plug within the same range.
✕This version is specified for the Jaltest Link V9.

Via this connection, the Jaltest software accesses the control units of the forklift truck. Which systems are present varies by model and by version.

Control units you can access

  • VCM4, VCM6, VCM15DN: Central computer, with maintenance.
  • MP: Instrument panel, without maintenance.
  • 1204E and 1204F (J1939): Engine controller, heavy-duty versions.
  • 1204F (PDL): Engine controller, without maintenance.
  • SCR/DEF: Exhaust gas aftertreatment.

How to use it

  1. Locate the plug: Find the 12-pin plug near the operator's position.
  2. Connect: Insert the JDC565.9 into the connector.
  3. Link pairing: Connect the OBD2 end to the diagnostic cable of the Link V9.
  4. Ignition on: Switch the truck's ignition on.
  5. Read out: Select Mitsubishi or Caterpillar in Jaltest MHE.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The plug determines compatibility, not the model. The cable fits any Mitsubishi or Caterpillar machine with the 12-pin diagnostic connector. The series covered by the Jaltest MHE coverage are listed below; count the pin positions at the operator's position yourself.

Mitsubishi:

  • FB series: Electric forklift trucks, including FB13(C)PN(T), FB14(C)N2(T), FB15(C)PN(T), FB16(C)N(T) and FB20K to FB35K inclusive.
  • FD series: Diesel forklift trucks, including FD15N, FD20N, FD40N, FD50(C)N, FD70N(M) and FD100N2.
  • FG and FGC series: LPG forklift trucks, including FG15N, FG20N, FG40N, FG50(C)N, FGC15N and FGC35K.

Caterpillar:

  • Forklift trucks: The C, P, E, DP, EP, GC and GP series.
  • Telehandlers: The TH and TL series.

Good to know: The diagnostic connector on these trucks is usually in or under the operator's position. Alongside this 12-pin version, Mitsubishi and Caterpillar also supply machines with a different plug. Check this on the machine itself before ordering.
