The Jaltest JDC565.9 connects the 12-pin diagnostic connector on forklifts and other materials handling equipment from Mitsubishi and Caterpillar to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. The 12-pin plug connects to the machine (typically located in or beneath the driver's seat), whilst the OBD2 housing connects to the interface. The cable measures 30 cm and is specified for the Jaltest Link V9. Both manufacturers use this connector, so one cable works for both.
Once connected, the cable opens the diagnostic line to the truck's control units. Jaltest software can access the main computer VCM4, VCM6 and VCM15DN and the instrument cluster MP, and on heavier models also the engine control units 1204E and 1204F with exhaust aftertreatment SCR/DEF. What you'll find varies significantly by model: lighter trucks typically have just the main computer and instrument cluster, whilst heavy-duty versions include engine management as well. The cable falls under Jaltest MHE.

Control units you can access
- VCM4, VCM6 and VCM15DN, machine computer: The truck's engine control unit, with fault codes, measured values, control unit data and maintenance information.
- MP, instrument cluster: Fault codes, measured values and control unit data; maintenance functions are not included here.
- 1204E (J1939) and 1204F (J1939), engine control: On heavy-duty versions, with fault codes, measured values, control unit data and maintenance; the 1204F J1939 also includes additional functions.
- 1204F (PDL), engine control: Fault codes, measured values and control unit data, without maintenance.
- SCR/DEF, exhaust aftertreatment: Fault codes, measured values and control unit data.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: Access the fault memory of connected control units, with fault descriptions.
- View measured values: Current sensor readings per control unit, with the option to set alarm thresholds.
- Consult maintenance: Maintenance intervals and required service tasks for the machine computer and engine control.
- Perform additional functions: Only available on the 1204F engine control in J1939 configuration.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any Mitsubishi- or Caterpillar-machine with the 12-pin diagnostic connector. The series listed below are covered under Jaltest's MHE coverage; you can verify the number of pin positions in the connector yourself at the driver's position.
