The Jaltest MDC02 is the test cable between the green 4-pin EBS connector (two rows of two) of the Knorr-Bremse module in MAN vehicles and the 16-pin OBD2 connector of the Jaltest ETM. You connect it directly to the module, not to the vehicle's diagnostic connector. The cable measures 24 to 26 cm.
With this connection the Jaltest ETM establishes communication with the modulator itself, as if it were the control unit. This allows you to establish whether the component is actually faulty, or whether the fault lies in the wiring or the control unit. In addition to this cable, you need the ETM itself, with an ETM licence and a current CV or Modular software licence.

Applications and functionality
Via this cable the Jaltest ETM communicates directly with the component, without the vehicle's control unit being involved. Below is a list of the components the ETM reaches in this way and what you can establish with it in the workshop.
What the Jaltest ETM covers
- Wabco EBS modulator: Generation 1, 2 and 3.
- Knorr-Bremse EBS modulator: Generation 2 and 3.
- Trailer control: Knorr-Bremse, trailer brake.
- Wheel speed sensors: Inductive, ABS and EBS.
- Brake pad wear: Sensors for the pad thickness.

Compatible modules and applications
The module and the colour of the connector are decisive, not the vehicle. This cable is for Knorr-Bremse EBS modules in MAN vehicles with the green 4-pin connector. You connect it to the module itself, not to the diagnostic connector in the cab.
MAN:
- Knorr-Bremse EBS modules: With the green 4-pin connector (2x2).
Other versions:
- Grey connector: The MDC03 is required for this.
- Knorr-Bremse outside MAN: The MDC04 and the MDC05 are required for this.
What you need
- Jaltest ETM: The test module itself. For the Jaltest Link V9 this is the ETM interface with reference 70001007; the complete ETM kit is 70001008.
- ETM licence: The ETM does not start without this licence. The annual renewal has reference 29701.
- An active Jaltest Software Activation: A CV Activation or a Modular Activation. Other modules cannot be combined with the ETM.
- Duration: The hardware, software and licence of the ETM run in line with the expiry date of your Jaltest software licence. If that licence runs for more than one year, you only pay for the remaining period. Once the Jaltest licence expires, the ETM will not work until it is renewed.
- Power supply: The ETM is powered from the vehicle's batteries.
