The Jaltest JDC536A is the diagnostic cable for the rectangular 12-pin connector of Komatsu earthmoving machines. On the machine side there is a grey Deutsch housing with an orange seal and twelve positions in two rows of six; on the interface side a black 16-pin OBD2 connector. The connector is located in the cab and the cable measures 28 to 30 cm.

With this cable you can access the engine control ENG, the hydraulic pump control PUMP, the instrument panel MON and, on wheel loaders, the transmission TRANS. For these units, fault codes, measured values and maintenance data are covered; ECU data and additional actions are not. The cable works with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest OHW.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕No ECU data is available for Komatsu control units; the serial number and software version cannot be read.
✕The ECM Cummins engine control is listed in the coverage list, but without supported diagnostic functions.
✕Only for the rectangular 12-pin Komatsu connector with the orange seal; other brands have their own plug.
✕The year of manufacture says nothing about the connector; only the plug in the cab is decisive.

How to use it

  1. Locating the plug: Find the 12-pin connector in the cab.
  2. Connecting: Insert the JDC536A into the connector.
  3. Linking: Connect the OBD2 side to the Jaltest diagnostic cable.
  4. Ignition on: Switch the ignition on without starting the engine.
  5. Reading out: Select Komatsu and the series in Jaltest OHW.

The plug is decisive, not the model. The cable fits every Komatsu earthmoving machine with the rectangular 12-pin diagnostic connector. Jaltest OHW covers the series below; check on site which connector is in the cab.

  • WA series: Wheel loaders, WA 300-5 to WA 900-8.

Good to know: The 12-pin connector is located in the cab and can be recognised by the grey housing with the orange seal and two rows of six positions. Komatsu has kept this connector across several machine generations. Check which connector is fitted in the cab before ordering.
