The Jaltest JDC632.9 is the adapter between the 6-pin diagnostic connector of small Mercury and Tohatsu outboard motors and the 26-pin DB26-port of the Jaltest Link. The DB26 connector connects directly to the SubD-26 input of the Link, without an OBD2 intermediate cable. On the engine side, the 6-pin connector is located under the engine cover.
The cable opens the diagnostic line to the engine control unit of these outboard motors: ECM by Tohatsu under Mercury model names and ECM (Engine Control Module) under Tohatsu model names — the same control unit with identical functionality. This allows the diagnostic equipment to read fault codes and live data, control components and monitor values whilst the engine runs; parameter configuration, calibration and maintenance reset are not supported by this engine control module. Jaltest supplies the cable for models in the 10–20 hp power class. The cable falls under Jaltest Marine.

What you receive
You get one black adapter cable with a 26-pin DB26 connector on the interface side: A metal D-housing with gold-plated contact pins and a screw lock mechanism. On the engine side sits the same ivory-coloured 6-pin connector as on the JDC632A, housed in a black overmoulded sleeve . Just before that connector, the cable jacket carries a blue identification ring , a red pull tab and a black label with CE marking .
Applications and functionality
This cable establishes the diagnostic connection between the Jaltest Link and the engine control unit of small Mercury and Tohatsu outboard motors. The connection runs from the 6-pin connector beneath the engine cover directly to the SubD-26 port on the Link. Below you will find which control module you can access and which functions the software offers for it.
Control modules you can access
- ECM by Tohatsu — Engine Control Module: This is how the engine control unit appears in the coverage of Mercury models in this power class, with fault codes, measured values, component activation, live data and the control module's own information.
- ECM — Engine Control Module: The same control unit under the Tohatsu model designation, with the same feature set.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: Access the fault memory of the engine control unit, with descriptions of detected faults.
- View measured values: The current readings from sensors connected to the engine control unit.
- Activate components: Active tests on the engine control unit, including direct tests on fuel injection and ignition.
- Monitor live data: Track values in real time whilst the engine is running.

The connector type and power class are decisive, not the model name. This cable is compatible with Mercury and Tohatsu outboard motors in the 10–20 hp power class with the 6-pin diagnostic connector.
