The Jaltest JDC620A connects the 8-pin diagnostic connector of MAN marine diesel engines to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the engine side there is a round screw connector: a nickel-plated sleeve with external thread and a knurled grip, containing eight gold-plated pins in a black housing. The connection is located at the engine or in the engine wiring harness; the cable is 28 to 30 cm long.

With the connector screwed on, the Jaltest software communicates with the control units of the engine installation: the common rail engine control EDC 7 C3, the dual version EDC 7 Master/Slave C3/C32 of the V-engines, the engine control interface SFFR, and the throttle and reverse gear control Marex OS II CR-MCP. In addition to reading out, activating components, parameters, calibrations and resets are also included. The cable is covered by Jaltest Marine.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕The Marex OS II CR-MCP is only fitted to installations with electronic throttle and reverse gear control; not every engine has that module.
✕Which EDC version is fitted varies by engine series: the D2842 has the Master/Slave variant, the D2876 the single EDC 7 C3.
✕Intended for MAN marine engines, not for trucks; the TG series has its own diagnostic connector and its own cables.
✕Only for the round 8-pin screw connector; other marine engine brands use their own plug.

The cable is intended for workshops that read out MAN inboard installations with the Jaltest Link. Which systems are present depends on the engine series and the fitted controls.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector is decisive, not the engine series. This cable fits MAN marine diesel engines with inboard installation and the round 8-pin connector. The series listed below are included in Jaltest Marine coverage; the nickel-plated screw sleeve shows whether you have the correct connection.

Good to know: This cable is for MAN marine engines, not trucks; the TG series has its own connection. You can recognise the marine version by the round nickel-plated threaded sleeve, located at the engine or in the engine wiring harness. Check that the connector on your engine is round and screw-on before ordering.
