The Jaltest JDC611A connects the 6-pin EGCI diagnostic connector of Volvo Penta petrol engines to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable; the same cable serves the OBD-M version. On the engine side is a black oval plug with a locking bracket and a purple contact holder with six gold-plated pins in one row. The cable measures 28 to 30 cm.
The cable opens the diagnostic line to the engine management and the EVC network on board: the ECM EGC, the older MEFI 1-2 and MEFI 3-4, the EVC modules EVC-C and EVC-MC, the HIU instrument panel, the HCU multiplex, the PCU drivetrain and the SCU steering control. On the EVC-C and EVC-MC you only get ECU data, parameters and, on the EVC-MC, calibration. The cable falls under Jaltest Marine.

Via this connection you access the engine management and the EVC modules of the Volvo Penta petrol engine with the Jaltest software. Which functions you get differs per control unit; the biggest difference lies between the ECM EGC with the full list and the EVC parameter modules without fault codes.

Compatible vehicles and applications
The plug is decisive, not the model. This cable fits any Volvo Penta petrol engine with the 6-pin EGCI connector in the black oval plug. Jaltest Marine lists the series below in its coverage; check which plug is fitted in the engine compartment on site.

The four Volvo Penta cables side by side
Volvo Penta uses a different diagnostic plug per engine generation and per application, with a separate cable for each version. Only the JDC618A9 requires a Jaltest Link V9; the other three also work on V8.1.
- JDC527A: Grey rectangular plug, blue-green contact holder with six contact sockets and an orange sealing ring. For the Volvo Penta 6-pin diagnostic connector: EDC1 and EDC CP.
- JDC528A: The same grey plug but wider, with eight contact sockets in two rows of four. For the 8-pin connection on stationary engines: EMS V3, EMS V4, EDC, ACM V3 and ACM V4.
- JDC611A (this cable): Black oval plug, purple contact holder with six pins in one row. For EGCI 6-pin and OBD-M: ECM EGC, MEFI and the EVC modules.
- JDC618A9: White rectangular plug with two round contact sockets, red and black wire. For Volvo Penta KAD/KAMD/TAMD with 2-pin connector.
