The Jaltest JDC570A connects the 19-pin diagnostic connector of Deutz engines to the 16-pin OBD2 port on your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the engine side, a round metal connector features a ribbed coupling ring and male pins housed in a black body; immediately behind the connector housing, the cable sheath carries a teal-green identification band, which distinguishes this cable from other round engine connectors. This connector belongs to the engine and is located on or adjacent to the engine block, not at a fixed position within the machine.

Once connected, the diagnostic equipment accesses the engine control unit of the block: EMR2 (EDC), EMR4 (EDC 17 CV52 and CV54) and EMR5 (EDC MD1 CC878). Coverage differences lie in servicing: with EMR4 and EMR5, maintenance intervals appear in the coverage table; with EMR2, diagnostics are limited to fault codes, live data and ECU information; on some EMR4 engines, additional functions are available on top. Deutz supplies its engines as standalone powerplants for machines, power units and implements, so the same cable remains compatible across different machine manufacturers. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (construction and earthmoving equipment).

KEY BENEFITS

Covers the complete Deutz control unit range supported by Jaltest: EMR2, EMR4 and EMR5.
With the EMR4 (EDC 17 CV52 and CV54) and the EMR5 (EDC MD1 CC878) maintenance intervals are also included in the coverage.
For some of the EMR4 engines, including the TCD 2.9 and the D 2.9, there are additional functions available.
Coverage extends from the older 2012 and 2013 series through to the current TCD series, so the cable remains compatible with newer engines.

IMPORTANT NOTES

The EMR2 (EDC) does not include a maintenance function in the coverage table; it is limited to fault codes, measured values and ECU data.
Additional functions are not available across the board: available for the EMR4 of the TCD 2.9 and the D 2.9, not available for the EMR4 of the TCD 12.0 and the TCD 16.0 and not for the EMR5.
For the 19-pin Deutz connector only: Deutz engines with the 12-pin connector use the JDC504A.
The 19-pin connector on FPT-engines is similar in appearance but incompatible; it features a larger circular housing with a densely populated pin field and is associated with the JDC526A.

Applications and functionality

Using this connection, you can access the engine control unit of the Deutz engine block with Jaltest software. Jaltest distinguishes between successive EMR generations, each with its own functional scope. The units listed below are covered by Deutz coverage.

Control units you can access

  • EMR2 - EDC, engine control: The older Deutz engine management system, found on the 2013 series among others. Fault codes, live data and ECU information, without servicing.
  • EMR4 - EDC 17 CV52 and EDC 17 CV54, engine control with common-rail injection: The control system for the TCD and D series, including servicing; on some variants also additional functions.
  • EMR5 - EDC MD1 CC878, engine control with common-rail injection: The latest generation covered, with fault codes, live data, ECU information and servicing.

What you can do

  • Read fault codes: Access the fault memory of the engine control unit, with descriptions of detected faults.
  • View live data: Monitor current sensor values from the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds.
  • Access servicing information: View service intervals and required maintenance tasks, available for EMR4 and EMR5 but not EMR2.
  • Perform additional functions: Only on EMR4 variants where the coverage table indicates this.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector on the engine is the determining factor, not the machine manufacturer. Deutz supplies its engines as standalone power units, so the engine series determines which cable you require. This cable is compatible with any Deutz engine featuring the circular 19-pin diagnostic connector; the pin configuration of the connector indicates which version you have. The engine series listed below are covered by Jaltest OHW.

Deutz:

  • TCD series: TCD 2.2, 2.9, 3.6, 4.1, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1, 7.7, 7.8, 9.0, 10.7, 12.0, 12.8, 13.5, 15.6, 16.0 and 18.0, plus the TTCD 5.1 and TTCD 7.7
  • 2012 and 2013 series: BF4M 2012, BF6M 2012C, BF4M 2013, BF6M 2013, BFM 2013 and the TCD 2012 L04/L06 and TCD 2013 L04/L06
  • 1015 series: BF6M 1015 C and BF8M 1015 CP
  • D, TD and G series: D 2.9, TD 2.2, TD 2.9, TD 3.6, G 2.2 and G 2.9
  • Applications: Earthmoving and construction machinery, lifting and hoisting equipment, agricultural machinery, power generation units and stationary installations fitted with a Deutz engine
💡
Useful to know: Deutz also uses a 12-pin connector with a wider pin field in addition to this 19-pin version; that is supplied via the JDC504A. The likewise 19-pin connector of FPT engines features a larger round housing with densely packed pins and is covered by the JDC526A. This cable can be identified by the teal marking ring on the sheath. Count the pin positions on your engine's connector before ordering.
