The Jaltest JDC560A9 is officially described as a diagnostic cable for Hitachi with Isuzu engines, 6-pin and connects that 6-pin engine connector to a standard 16-pin OBD2-interface. The cable connects directly to the engine side: it plugs into the diagnostic connector on the engine wiring harness rather than the machine diagnostics in the cab. At 30 cm in length, it is a short adapter cable for the Jaltest Link V9.
On the interface side sits a black 16-pin OBD2 socket with the OBD symbol on the housing; on the machine side sits a fully black, rectangular connector housing with locking tabs and a deep sealing lip. Halfway along, a thinner cable branches off to a DC power socket, with a loose power cable with right-angle DC connector shown separately in the product photo. You can identify the 6-pin configuration by that black housing: the 8-pin JDC561A9 by contrast has a grey housing with green sealing. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

Applications and functionality
Using this connection, you can access the Jaltest software to communicate with the engine control unit of the machine. Which version is present depends on the engine and the Zaxis generation.
Control units you can access
- 4HK1 and 4JJ1 (K-Line) — Isuzu common rail engine management: The common rail engine management of the Isuzu four-cylinder engines in K-Line configuration.
- 4HK1 and 4JJ1 (CAN) — Isuzu common rail engine management: The same engine management on newer machines with CAN connectivity.
- ECM — engine management: The engine management as specified by Jaltest for the heavier Isuzu engines.
- AdBlue/DEF Isuzu — exhaust aftertreatment: The aftertreatment control unit on machines equipped with AdBlue system.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: Monitor current sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as figures and graphs.
- Track maintenance: Record service intervals and completed work, with a service report.
- Perform additional functions: Execute extra procedures that Jaltest offers for each control unit, where available for your system.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable is designed for the 6-pin engine connector on Isuzu diesel engines fitted by Hitachi in its excavators and wheel loaders. You can identify which of the two versions is fitted in the engine harness by the colour of the connector housing: black corresponds to this cable, grey with green seal to the JDC561A9.
