The Jaltest JDC534A connects the 9-pin diagnostic connector of FPT engines in CNH construction equipment to a standard 16-pin OBD2-interface. The machine-side connector is not a round plug but a rectangular, off-white plastic housing with nine positions and a black strain relief on the cable. This connector belongs to the engine control unit and is located in the engine bay, not at the standard machine diagnostic port. Because the engine comes from the FPT programme, you will find the same connector on construction equipment from New Holland CE, Fiat Kobelco and Q&K. The cable measures 28 to 30 cm.
Behind this single connector lie the FPT engine control units that Jaltest covers under IVECO-FPT: EDC 7 C1 and EDC 7 UC31, EDC 16 C39, EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2 and EDC MD1 CE101, plus the AdBlue dosing system Denoxtronic 2.1. The range of functions increases with each generation: additional functions are available only on the two newest units, and on EDC 16 C39 and EDC 7 C1 the service intervals are also missing. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (construction and terrain machinery).

Applications and functionality
Using this connection, you can access the Jaltest software to communicate with the engine management of the FPT engine in the construction machine. The functional scope increases with the generation of the control unit. The following units are compatible with IVECO-FPT Coverage, where Jaltest classifies these engines.

- EDC 7 C1 and EDC 7 UC31 (CAN and K Line):The first generation of FPT common rail engines.
- EDC 16 C39, engine control:The intermediate generation.
- EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2:The control unit with integrated exhaust aftertreatment.
- EDC MD1 CE101, engine control:The current generation, with the most comprehensive feature set.
- Denoxtronic 2.1, exhaust aftertreatment:The AdBlue dosing system as a separate system in the coverage.
What you can do
- Reading and clearing fault codes:Read the fault memory of the control unit with the fault description, and clear it after repair.
- View measurement values:The current sensor values on the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds for values outside the normal range.
- Maintenance: Consult the engine service intervals and record the associated work in a report. Available for engines including EDC 7 UC31 (CAN), EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2 and EDC MD1 CE101.
- Additional actions:The additional procedures that Jaltest offers per control unit, such as reset and configuration functions. Available only for EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2 and EDC MD1 CE101.
