The Jaltest JDC518A connects engine diagnostics for SISU to your Jaltest equipment and terminates on the machine side with two connectors positioned side by side. The first branch is a 3-pin CAN-backbone connector with a grey locking bracket and green contact holder; this connects to the continuous CAN line of the engine. The second branch is a 9-pin SUB-D with metal housing and two screws, designed for the separate 9-pin diagnostic connection. On the interface side sits the 16-pin OBD2, and the cable measures 28 to 30 cm.
With this connection, Jaltest software reads all four SISU engine control units from coverage: EEM2 with the electronic distributor pump VP30/VP44, EEM3 based on EDC 7 UC31, EEM4 based on EDC 17 CV54 and EEM4S5 based on EDC MD1. For all four, fault codes, measured values, ECU data and service intervals are included in coverage; additional actions are only available with the two latest control units. Because a SISU engine block is installed as a standalone power unit, coverage spans four modules: Jaltest AGV, OHW, MHE and Marine.

Applications and functionality
Through this connection, you access the engine control unit of the SISU block using Jaltest software. Which of the four control systems is fitted depends on the engine generation and the fuel injection system. The units listed below are from the SISU coverage with the functions available for each control system shown alongside.
Control units you can access
- EEM2 (VP30/VP44), electronic distributor pump: The generation with electronically controlled distribution injection pump.
- EEM3 (EDC 7 UC31), electronic diesel control: The first generation with common rail injection.
- EEM4 (EDC 17 CV54), electronic diesel control: The fourth generation, with additional functions in the coverage.
- EEM4S5 (EDC MD1), electronic diesel control: The current version, built around the EDC MD1 control unit.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Read the fault memory of the control unit with fault descriptions, and clear it after repair.
- View measured values: The current sensor values on the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds for values outside the normal range.
- Consult maintenance: Request the engine service intervals and record completed work in a report.
- Perform additional functions: The extra procedures per control unit, such as reset and calibration functions. For SISU only on EEM4 and EEM4S5.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The engine is what matters, not the machine it is installed in. SISU supplies the engine block as standalone power unit, so the engine generation determines what you will find and not the brand of the tractor or machine. Check the block itself to see if it has the 3-pin CAN-backbone or the 9-pin SUB-D, and verify this on the machine itself before you order. The applications below are from the SISU coverage.
