The Jaltest JDC509A connects the diagnostic port of Volvo Construction Equipment machines to the 16-pin OBD2 input of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the machine side, there is a round black connector with a ribbed locking ring and pins in a recessed contact holder; on the interface side, there is a black 16-pin OBD2 socket. The connection is located in the cab and the cable measures 28 to 30 cm.
Through this adapter, Jaltest equipment establishes direct communication with the machine's control units. This gives you access to the vehicle computer VECU and V2ECU, engine control EDC, transmission controls TECU and ZF Ergopower, and peripheral units CU (climate), CCU (cab module), IC (instrument panel) and the telematics module W-ECU. The number of units you encounter varies by series: on an EC-series excavator, Jaltest reaches five; on an L-series wheel loader, eight. The cable works with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

- Read and clear fault codes:Read the fault memory of the control unit, with a description of the detected fault.
- View measurement values:The current sensor values controlled by the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds.
- Check maintenance intervals:The service intervals and maintenance tasks, with a report for workshop records. Available for various systems including the EDC engine control unit and instrument cluster.
Compatible vehicles and applications
Compatibility is determined by the connector type, not the model. Machines from Volvo Construction Equipmenthave their ownround diagnostic connector with a locking ring; on construction equipmentis a standardisedOBD2 connector never became mandatory, so you'll also find this connector on recent machines.
