The Jaltest JDC406A converts the 12-pin and 8-pin connector of the security gateway (SGW) in Fiat vehicles to the standard 16-pin OBD2 connector. You do not connect it to the diagnostic port, but directly to the gateway connector in the wiring harness, so diagnostics do not run through that gateway. This means you do not need to purchase separate access to the gateway.
The cable has its own black housing. The 16-pin OBD2 connector for your Jaltest diagnostic cable is at the top; at the bottom, two black connectors on short leads come out, the 12-pin and the 8-pin half. Which control units are accessible varies by model and version. The cable belongs to Jaltest CV.

Compatible vehicles and applications
The gateway determines compatibility, not the model. This cable is intended for the Fiat security gateway with the 12-pin and 8-pin connector. Whether that gateway is fitted and which connector is present must be confirmed on the vehicle in the wiring harness.
Fiat (FCA):
