The Jaltest JDC303A connects the 3+6-pin diagnostic connector of ZF to the 16-pin OBD2-port on your Jaltest diagnostic cable. From the OBD2 housing emerge two branches with natural white nylon connectors: one with six pins arranged in two rows of three and one with three pins in a single row, each fitted with a black strain relief. The lead measures 28 to 30 cm and the cable is compatible with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9. This connector belongs to the ZF control unit itself and is not located at the vehicle's OBD port.
Behind this single connector lie the ZF units that Jaltest brings together under the coverage group ZF Transmissions: the automatic gearboxes Ecomat 1, Ecomat 2/4 and EcoLife, the automated transmissions AS Tronic, AS Tronic Lite, EcoTronic, PowerLine, TraXon and AVS, and the retarders EST-32, EST-42 and Intarder 3. The function set varies by transmission: parameters are included for Ecomat 2/4, but not for Ecomat 1 and EcoLife. Because the connector is independent of the vehicle's diagnostic system, it remains functional even if the vehicle itself already has a 16-pin OBD-connection. The cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

Applications and functionality
Using this connection, you access the ZF control unit via Jaltest software which is equipped with a 3+6-pin connector. Jaltest groups ZF systems together in the coverage group ZF Transmissions regardless of which vehicle the gearbox is installed in. What you can do per unit varies significantly by generation.
Control units you can access
- Ecomat 1, automatic gearbox: The first generation ZF bus automatic.
- Ecomat 2/4, automatic gearbox: The successors, with parameters included in coverage.
- EcoLife, automatic gearbox: The six-speed bus automatic that followed Ecomat.
- AS Tronic and AS Tronic Lite: The automated manual gearboxes; AS Tronic Lite also includes calibration and reset in coverage.
- EcoTronic, PowerLine, TraXon and AVS: The remaining ZF gearboxes in the same coverage group.
- Retarders EST-32, EST-42 and Intarder 3 (EST-52/EST-54): ZF auxiliary brakes, with serial number and software version of the unit.

- Read and clear fault codes: Read the fault memory of the ZF control unit and clear it after repair.
- View measured values: Current sensor readings from the gearbox or retarder, displayed as a graph.

- Parameter configuration:Available on Ecomat 2/4 and AS Tronic Lite, among others.
- Calibration and reset:Jaltest provides calibration and reset procedures for AS Tronic Lite and TraXon.
