The Jaltest JDC103A connects the 7-pin diagnostic connector of Wabco and Knorr-Bremse trailer braking systems to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the trailer side is a round black plug with a ribbed grip and seven pins: six in a circle and one in the centre. All seven positions are occupied, which distinguishes this connector from the also 7-pin JDC111A. The cable is 28 to 30 cm long.
The cable opens the diagnostic line to the trailer ABS: Wabco Vario C, VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN and Knorr-Bremse A18, KB3-TA and KB4-TA. You can read fault codes, measured values and ECU data; for VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN also maintenance data. Some of the Knorr-Bremse functions are available with the separate Knorr-Bremse Diagnostics module (ref. 71502007). The cable works with the Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and is covered by Jaltest CV.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕For Wabco Vario C, the coverage does not include maintenance data, only fault codes, measured values and ECU data.
✕The EBS units of Wabco (EBS C, EBS D, EBS D CAN, EBS E, iEBS) and Knorr-Bremse (TEBS Gen2, TEBS G2.x, TEBS4, iTEBS X) are not reached; the ISO 7638 cable JDC110A is intended for these.
✕Some of the Knorr-Bremse functions only become available with the separate Knorr-Bremse Diagnostics module (ref. 71502007).
Applications and functionality
Via this connection, you use the Jaltest software to access the brake controller on the semi-trailer or trailer. Which unit you find is determined by the generation of the Wabco or Knorr-Bremse controller, not by the trailer brand.

Compatible vehicles and applications
The plug determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any semi-trailer or trailer with a Wabco or Knorr-Bremse brake controller whose diagnostic connector is a round 7-pin plug with seven pins. The EBS generations of both brands use a separate connector.
Wabco (scope):
- Vario C: Anti-lock braking system; fault codes, measured values and ECU data.
- VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN: Anti-lock braking system, including maintenance data.
Knorr-Bremse (scope):
- A18 and KB3-TA: Older trailer anti-lock braking systems.
- KB4-TA: Also accessible via the JDC111A.

Good to know: Count the seven pins in the round connector: six in a circle and one in the centre. If a 7-pin housing contains sockets and only four positions are occupied, then the JDC111A is the correct one. Check this on the trailer before ordering.
