The Jaltest JDC103A connects the 7-pin diagnostic connector of trailer braking systems from Wabco and Knorr-Bremse to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the trailer side, there is a round black connector with a ribbed grip, which houses seven pins — six arranged in a circle and one in the centre. All seven positions are populated, which distinguishes this connector from the similarly 7-pin JDC111A. The cable measures 28 to 30 cm in length.
Beyond that coupling, the cable opens the diagnostic pathway to the trailer ABS systems of both manufacturers: on the Wabco side Vario C, VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN, on the Knorr-Bremse side A18, KB3-TA and KB4-TA. From these control units, the equipment reads fault codes, measured values and ECU data — with VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN, maintenance information is also available, and with VCSII and VCSII CAN, additional diagnostic messages. Some Knorr-Bremse functions become available with the separate module Knorr-Bremse Diagnostics (ref. 71502007). The cable works with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under the Jaltest CV module.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and functionality
\nVia this connection you can access the Jaltest software the remote control system on the trailer or semi-trailer, in other words the anti-lock braking system. Which unit you encounter determines the generation of the Wabco or Knorr-Bremse system and not the trailer brand. The units below are sourced from trailer cover by Jaltest, with per system the features that are available there.\n
Control units you can access
- Wabco trailer ABS:Vario C, VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN, with fault codes, measured values and ECU data.
- Knorr-Bremse trailer ABS:A18, KB3-TA and KB4-TA, with fault codes, measured values and ECU data.
What you can do
- Read fault codes:Retrieve the fault memory of the braking system, with a description of the stored fault.
- View measurement values:The current values of connected sensors, with an alert when a value falls outside the specified range.
- View maintenance data:At VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN, view maintenance intervals and compile a service report.
- View diagnostic messages:At VCSII and VCSII CAN, Jaltest provides additional coverage alerts.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type is what matters, not the model. This cable fits any trailer or semi-trailer with a Wabco- or Knorr-Bremse-emission control system where the diagnostic connector is a round 7-pin connector with seven pins is. For trailersis never prescribed as a standardised diagnostic connection, which is why this connector is also found onnewer trailers remains in use. The EBS generations from both manufacturers operate via their own connection.
Wabco (scope):
- Vario C: Anti-lock braking system; fault codes, measured values and ECU data.
- VCS, VCSII and VCSII CAN: Anti-lock braking system; including maintenance data.
Knorr-Bremse (scope):
