The Jaltest JDC568A connects the proprietary 4-pin diagnostic connector of Hatz engines to the 16-pin OBD2 port on your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the engine side, a grey sealed plug features a green pin holder and four pins, with a straight cable entry in a black sleeve; on the interface side sits the flat OBD2 housing. The cable measures 30 cm. This connector belongs to the engine itself, not to the machine in which it is installed.

Through this adapter, diagnostic equipment accesses the engine control unit of the Hatz. Hatz manufactures compact industrial diesel engines installed as standalone power units; coverage focuses on a single engine family, the H50 series, with two Bosch control modules: the EDC 17 C81 and the EDC 17 CV54. With both, Jaltest reads fault codes, live data and service intervals; actuating components, adjusting parameters and calibration are not supported. The cable is specified for Jaltest Link V8.1, V8.4 and V9 and falls under Jaltest MHE.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕Hatz coverage is read-only: component actuation, parameter configuration and calibration are not available for these control units.
✕Both Hatz control units lack diagnostic warnings and supplementary actions.
✕Only for the 4-pin connector on the Hatz engine with the green pin holder; the equipment's own control units have their own connection.
✕The 30 cm cable length follows the engine: if the block is mounted deep within a machine, you will be working close to the engine block.

Applications and functionality

Through this connection, you access the Hatz engine control unit using Jaltest software. Which of the two control units you encounter depends on the engine configuration. The following two units are included in the Jaltest coverage for Hatz.

Control units you can access

  • EDC 17 C81 engine control:The Bosch engine control unit from the H50 series, including fault codes, measured values, control unit data and maintenance information.
  • EDC 17 CV54 engine control:The second version of the engine control unit, with the same function list.

What you can do

  • Read fault codes:Access the fault memory of the engine control unit, with descriptions of detected faults.
  • View measured values:The current sensor readings from the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds.
  • Consult maintenance:The maintenance intervals and work to be performed, with a customer report.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The engine is what matters, not the machine.This cable fits any Hatz H50 engine with the 4-pin diagnostic connector, whether the block is installed in a compact machine, lifting equipment, power generator or other application. The grey housing with the green pin holder is located on or next to the engine block.

Good to know: The diagnostic connector belongs to the engine and is located on or next to the engine block, not at a fixed location on the machine. The equipment itself may also have its own diagnostic connector, which is accessed with a different cable. Verify this on the engine itself before ordering.
