\nThe Jaltest JDC102A connects the 4-pin diagnostic connector of the Haldex Modular-trailer braking system with the16-pin OBD2-input of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the trailer side there is one round black connector with a knurled locking ring, in which four pins around a cross-pin connectorstand. The fact that the connector has pins rather than sockets is the quickest way to distinguish it from the equally 4-pinJDC108A. The cable is 28 to 30 cm lang.\n

Behind the coupling, the Jaltest software reaches the anti-lock braking systemMODULAR/PLC, which is fully read out within Haldex coverage: Fault codes, measured values, ECU data and maintenance information. The determining factor is Haldex unit on the chassis and not the trailer manufacturer, which means the same cable works across different trailer brands past. For trailersis never prescribed a standardised diagnostic connection, which is why this connector remains in use as long as the system is on the road. The cable works withJaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under the Jaltest CV module.\n

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕Designed exclusively for the 4-pin Modular connector with pins. The EB+/TRS unit also has four poles but features sockets and falls under JDC108A.
✕The Modal version uses two flat 3-pin housings instead and is covered by JDC101A.
✕For Haldex systems MGX and PLC/PLC Plus the coverage lists no diagnostic functions; do not expect any readout from these.
✕Other Haldex systems — ABS MODAL, PLC Select, ITCM, U-ABS, EB+/TRS and EPV, the EB+ generations and tyre pressure monitoring (TPMS) — are listed as separate systems in the coverage, each with its own connector.

Applications and functionality

Through this connection you access with the Jaltest software for brake control of the trailer or semi-trailer, otherwise known as the anti-lock braking system. Which Haldex unit is fitted to the chassis determines the system generation and not the trailer manufacturer. The unit below is covered by Jaltest's Haldex coverage with the functions available there.

  • MODULAR/PLC, anti-lock braking system trailer: The brake control system this cable is designed for, with fault codes, measured values, ECU data and maintenance information.

  • Read fault codes: Query the fault memory of the control unit, with a description of the stored fault.
  • View measured values: The current values of the connected sensors, with a notification when a value falls outside the range.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector is what matters, not the model. This cable fits any semi-trailer or trailer where the Haldex Modular unit with a round 4-pin connector with pins is mounted on the chassis. For trailers no standardised diagnostic connector has ever been prescribed, which means this connector continues to be used on newer semi-trailers as well. A similar round connector with sockets is part of JDC108A.
