The Jaltest CV is a complete diagnostic system for commercial vehicles: A case containing the Jaltest Link, the unit you connect to the diagnostic socket, and the software that runs on your own laptop.

With it, you can access the control units of lorries, trailers, buses and vans from nearly two hundred manufacturers. You read fault codes and measured values, control components, perform calibrations and reset service indicators. Three times a year, a new software version is released, with additional makes, models and systems.

This set includes everything required to carry out diagnostics: The Link, the software activation and the software licence for the first year. Once you receive the unit, we activate the module on the serial number of the supplied Link. You arrange a laptop and the make-specific cables separately.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕No laptop, no manufacturer-specific cables. Only the 16-pin OBD cable is included. A separate cable is required for a manufacturer-specific connector.
✕Vehicle wiring diagrams sold separately. Standard technical information is included, but the SMART Guides and complete vehicle wiring diagrams require INFO Plus (70605005), €332.95 per year.
✕Six-monthly registration required. The software requires registration every six months. If registration is not completed, the software will lock.
✕Not suitable for all equipment. Sweeping machines and other multi-purpose equipment fall under the separate Multi-Purpose Vehicle module (29348), not under CV.

  • Jaltest Link: The interface you connect to the vehicle's diagnostic socket.
  • Multipin kit (70002001): Individual test leads with connection cable, allowing you to probe directly into a connector where no dedicated diagnostic cable exists, plus two power cables: JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket.
  • OBD cable, 16-pin: The standard cable for the regular diagnostic connection.
  • USB-C cable: The connection between the Link and your computer.
  • 1 metre extension cable: With a 26-pin SubD connector, the wide connector on the Link itself.
  • Case: The compact design, 505 x 381 x 146 mm.

Software

  • Software activation: The one-time purchase that unlocks the CV module.
  • Software licence, twelve months: The right to use it for the first year.
  • INFO Online CV (29440): The technical information accompanying the software. Included with purchase, not available separately, and free of charge from 2026 onwards.
  • Jaltest GRP: The workshop management software from Cojali for customers, vehicles and reports, available in Basic, Synchro and Enterprise modes.

A brand in the list means coverage is available, not that every model and year of manufacture is fully supported. For trailers, Jaltest bases coverage on the installed braking system rather than the manufacturer. If you search for Krone or Schmitz, you won't find them: coverage is available for Bendix, Cojali, Haldex, Knorr-Bremse and Wabco.

European includes the United Kingdom, Turkey and Russia; Chinese is separate from Asian, which covers Japan, South Korea, India and Taiwan. Under Other you'll find brands from Australia and Africa, plus a small number of manufacturers whose origin we were unable to determine.

What you can do with it

Diagnostics

  • Read fault codes: The fault memory of the control unit, with information about the codes.
  • Live data: The values from connected sensors displayed on screen.
  • Actuate components: Operate individual components to verify their function.
  • ECU data: Serial number, software version and other control unit information.
  • Parameters and calibrations: Configure control units and adjust systems.

Maintenance

  • Diesel particulate filter (DPF): Force regeneration and register after replacement.
  • Cylinder cut-out test: Disable cylinders individually to assess engine running condition.
  • Injector coding: Register new injectors in the engine control unit.
  • Calibrate components: Recalibrate after replacement.
  • Service resets: Reset after servicing.

The difference with expert mode. Standard diagnostics involves reading data, taking measurements and controlling actuators. In expert mode, you can additionally modify parameters in the control units: Cojali itself lists sensor and actuator calibration, adjustment of operating parameters and diesel particulate filter regeneration.This mode is included.

Cables and computer

The kit includes a 16-pin OBD cable. If the vehicle has a proprietary connector, a separate cable is required. Cojali supplies these in cable sets:

Good to know: If you renew within fifteen days after the expiry date, the new period runs from that expiry date; it then commences on the renewal date. Renewal is carried out using the update licence; include the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the remarks field.
