Applications and functions

The Jaltest Link V9 creates the connection between the vehicle's diagnostic connector and the Jaltest software on your laptop. The hardware is the same as in the separate set 70001052; what you can read out is determined by the software module, here Jaltest CV. If the same system is used by several brands, such as a brake or ABS system, you access it by component rather than by vehicle.

How to use it

1. Software installation: Install Jaltest on your Windows PC.
2. Activation: We activate the CV module on the Link.
3. Linking the Link: Connect the Link V9 to the PC via the JDC107.9B.
4. Connecting: JDC213.9 or manufacturer-specific cable, via the JDC100 if necessary.
5. Reading out: Select make and model, or search by component.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The software module determines coverage, not the case. Jaltest CV covers four groups: Trucks, trailers, buses and vans. A brand in the list means coverage exists, not that every model and model year is fully supported. The classification follows the country where the brand originates, not the current owner. European includes the United Kingdom, Turkey and Russia. Chinese is separate from Asian, which covers Japan, South Korea, India and Taiwan. Other includes brands from Australia and Africa, plus the few names whose origin could not be traced. For trailers, Jaltest does not go by the manufacturer but by the fitted braking system: if you search for Krone or Schmitz, you will not find them, because coverage runs through Bendix, Cojali, Haldex, Knorr-Bremse and Wabco.

The systems in the vehicle

• Powertrain: Engine, gearbox and exhaust aftertreatment; in the software, the Antipollution group with SCR and AdBlue.
• Brakes and chassis: Service brake, auxiliary brakes, compressed air preparation, suspension, steering system and chassis module.
• Electronics and comfort: Central computer, electronic modules, instrument panel, lighting, climate, heater, display, audio and starter interrupt.
• Safety: The Safety group, with emergency brake assist and lane monitoring. A separate ESP category does not exist.
• Registration: The Data registration group, telematics and FMS, with the tachograph also included below it.

Expert mode

Standard diagnostics means reading, measuring and controlling. In expert mode, which is included, you also calibrate sensors and actuators, set operating parameters and regenerate the diesel particulate filter.

• INFO Online CV (29440): The technical information included with the software. It is included, is not sold separately and is free of charge in 2026.

Cables and computer

The case contains the 16-pin OBD cable for the standard connector. If the vehicle has a manufacturer-specific plug, a separate cable is required for it; those cables are available separately and are also bundled in three cable sets. Which cable you need is determined by the diagnostic connector in the vehicle and not by the brand on the grille: check the plug on the vehicle itself before ordering.

• Multipin Kit (70002001): Twenty multipins JTP01 to JTP10, each in two colours, the connection cable JTP101 and two power cables: JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket. With these you can probe directly into a connector for which no dedicated diagnostic cable exists.
• Truck and bus (29362): Cables for Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and MTU, Wabco brake systems, Renault, Iveco, the MAN TG series, DAF and MAN with 37-pin plug.
• Trailer (70002024): Cables for Wabco and Knorr-Bremse, for Haldex EB+/TRS and TPMS, and for trailer CAN according to ISO 7638-1.
• Refrigeration units (29989): Cables for Thermo King and Carrier, and for Carrier CAN.
• Individual cables: Also available individually if you only have one brand in the workshop.
• Computer: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are listed separately in our webshop.

Licence and renewal

The software licence runs for twelve months from activation and is then renewed annually with the update licence (29051). While the licence is valid, you receive all new software versions and retain access to the technical information.

• Software activation: The one-off purchase (29303) that unlocks the CV module.
• Software licence: The first year, twelve months from activation (71502018).
• Renewal: Annually, with the update licence (29051), each time for another twelve months.
• Activation: We activate the module once you have received the device, using the serial number of the supplied Jaltest Link; you do not need to provide anything yourself.
• Separate update licence: Provide the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the comments field of the order; we will activate the renewal within one working day.
• Installations: Up to five PCs. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
• Registration: At activation, after each new software version and every six months thereafter. If this does not take place, the software will be blocked.
• Adding a module later: A module purchased at a later date is aligned with your current licence; you pay pro rata.
• Not renewing: Diagnostics will continue to work on the most recently installed version, but access to the technical information will expire. Cojali still supports an expired licence for one year.
