The Jaltest 74502015 is the software licence for Marine Inboard, the Jaltest diagnostic solution for inboard engines. The module comes with the first licence year included, so after activation you have twelve months of access straight away.

During that year you receive the three software versions that Jaltest releases per year. After that, you renew annually with the update licence (74602003). To carry out diagnostics you need the Jaltest Link; AsTools activates the module on the serial number of that Link, usually within one working day.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕The first year expires after twelve months. If you do not renew with the update licence (74602003), the module is blocked.
✕The Jaltest Link is mandatory; without that interface the software will not start. The software also requires registration every half year, even while the licence is still valid.
✕Please provide the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the comments field when you order; without that number we cannot activate the licence.
✕Only inboard engines. If you also work on other engines, purchase the corresponding Marine licence as well.

Applications and functionality

Marine Inboard is the Jaltest diagnostic solution for inboard engines. With this licence the module is available to you from activation; what you can do with it depends on the engine and the connection you use.

What the licence includes

  • Fault codes: Read and clear, with descriptions.

  • Calibrations: As offered by Jaltest per system.
  • By symptom: Diagnostic paths based on the complaint.
  • Technical info: Procedures and manual diagnostics.
  • Expert mode: Choose a control unit yourself.

How to use it

  1. Ordering: Order the licence in the webshop.
  2. Pass on serial number: When ordering, state the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the comments field; this is mandatory.
  3. We activate: We link the module to that serial number, usually within one working day of your order.
  4. Confirmation: You will receive an email once the module is active.
  5. Use: Start Jaltest Diagnostics and retrieve the module; Marine Inboard then appears in the start menu.

Compatible engines and vessels

The licence category determines coverage, not the brand alone. Marine Inboard covers inboard engines. The brands below are included in Jaltest Marine coverage; which systems are available per engine varies by model and year of manufacture.

Inboard engines (39 brands):

  • European (13): FNM, Iveco-FPT, MAN, MTU, Rotax, Scania, Steyr, Vetus, VM Motori, Volkswagen, Volvo Penta, Volvo Penta Gasoline, Weber.
  • Asian (4): Hyundai Seasall, Toyota Marine, Yamaha, Yanmar.
  • American (21): Caterpillar, Crusader, Cummins, Cummins Mercruiser Diesel, Detroit Diesel, Ilmor, Indmar, Indmar Diesel, John Deere, Kodiak Marine, Malibu, Marine Power, Mercury Diesel, Mercury Mercruiser, Mercury Racing, OMC, OMC Diesel, Panther Airboats, PCM, Scarab, Sea-Doo (BRP).
  • Other (1): OBD-M (brand-independent).

The versions

Marine Inboard is available in three versions with the same coverage. The difference lies in what you buy, not in what you can do with it.

  • Software activation (74502003): One-off purchase of the module.
  • Software licence (74502015): This product, the module with the first year included.
  • Update licence (74602003): Twelve-month extension, from the second year onwards.

What falls outside this licence

Marine works per category. If you also work on other engines, purchase the corresponding licence.

  • Outboard motors: Marine Outboard (74502004).
  • Jet skis: Marine Jetski (74502005).
  • Stationary engines or everything combined: Marine Complete (74502001).

What you need

  • Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, also to start the software on a PC.
  • Adapter cables: Optional: Marine cable set for inboard engines (70002009). If you do not have them, connect using the multi-pin set from your Jaltest case.
💡
Good to know: If your licence expires, the module is blocked until you purchase the update licence (74602003). If you renew within fifteen days after the expiry date, the new period runs on from that expiry date; after that, it starts on the day of renewal.
