\nThe Jaltest JDC112A is the orange T-connector that in the 7-pin connection between towing vehicle and trailer. One arm carries a plug with seven brass pins, the other arm the corresponding 7-pin connector, and on the side there is JDC 112Ain moulded plastic. At right angles to this is a black block with a short cable running from it to a roundblack 9-pin Deutsch connectorwith abayonet collar, of which four of the nine positions are occupied. That free end is therefore not a 16-pin OBD2.\n
\nOn the 9-pin Deutsch connector, you connect your own 9-pin Deutsch diagnostic cable to the interface; in the product photo that is the version with the green coupling ring. This brings the equipment to PLC communication to SAE J2497 standard: The trailer then does not transmit its diagnostic data via a separate data bus, but over the power supply line of the lighting, the way trailer braking systems particularly in North Americareaches trailers without their own CAN diagnostic connection. The adapter is rated for theJaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).\n

Compatible vehicles and applications
Communication method is what matters, not the manufacturer. This adapter connects to the 7-pin connection carrying PLC according to SAE J2497. This connection is located at the coupling between towing vehicle and trailer, and the adapter sits in between with its orange T-housing.
