The Jaltest 29701 is the update licence for the Jaltest ETM, the Electronic Test Module. With it you test electronic components separately from the vehicle. An EBS modulator, a wheel speed sensor or a brake pad wear sensor sits on the workbench, and the ETM communicates with it as a control unit would.
Because you measure directly on the component, connectors, wiring harness and control unit are eliminated as sources of fault. The software guides you through the test procedure and assesses the result. This licence extends access by twelve months; the expiry date runs in line with that of your Jaltest software licence. If you do not renew, the ETM will be blocked; the hardware remains yours.

Applications and functionality
A component in the vehicle is always measured through the rest of the vehicle. A poor connector or a damaged wire gives a reading that is slightly off, and then you replace the wrong part. The ETM connects directly to the component, supplies the voltage and signals that the control unit normally provides, and checks what comes back.

How to use it
- Ordering: Add this update licence to your basket.
- Serial number: State in the comments field the serial number of the Jaltest Link on which the current licence is held.
- Activation: AsTools applies the extension to that serial number, usually within one working day of your order.
- Confirmation: You will receive an email as soon as the new expiry date is on your serial number.
- Usage: Start Jaltest Diagnostics and download the new version; the ETM remains listed in the start menu.
Compatible components and brands
The deciding factor is the component and the brake system brand. The ETM tests components from Wabco and Knorr-Bremse; the power supply comes from the vehicle's batteries, even when the component lies loose on the workbench.

- Wheel speed sensors: The inductive sensors of ABS and EBS.
- Brake pad wear sensors: The wear indicators in the brake caliper.

- Wabco: First, second and third generation.

Licence and extension
The ETM consists of hardware on the workbench and software that carries out the test procedures. This licence relates to the software.
- What you extend: Twelve months of access to the test procedures, including the components Jaltest adds during that period.
- What does not change: The ETM hardware remains yours.
- If you do not renew: The module is blocked; you can no longer run any test with it.
- Expiry date: Runs in line with that of your Jaltest software licence.
What you need
- Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, also to start the software on a PC.
- CV or Modular licence: Current; the ETM only works in combination with it.
- ETM hardware: The test module with interface cable and component cables. Purchased separately.
- PC with Jaltest Diagnostics: The ETM does not work on Jaltest handhelds.
