The Jaltest JDC546A is the adapter cable that converts the proprietary 6-pin diagnostic connector of the ZF Ergopower transmission to the standard 16-pin OBD2 port. The 6-pin connector belongs to the transmission control unit and is typically located in the cab or at the gearbox control module; on the interface side sits the 16-pin OBD2 inlet for your Jaltest diagnostic cable. ZF uses a different diagnostic connector for each transmission family.
With this connection, Jaltest diagnostic equipment reads the transmission control unit ZF - Ergopower, the powershift gearbox that ZF supplies for wheel loaders, dump trucks and similar machines. Jaltest lists this unit in the machine coverage under Transmission, including fault codes, live data, component actuation, ECU information and calibration. Because the transmission control unit is the determining factor—not the machine manufacturer—the cable remains compatible with any machine equipped with this ZF gearbox. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

- View live data: Monitor the current sensor readings on the gearbox, such as engine speeds and temperatures.
- Activate components: Directly engage the clutches and solenoids of the powershift gearbox to test their operation.
- Perform calibration: Run the calibration procedure that Jaltest offers for the Ergopower, for example after gearbox service.
- Live data monitoring: Track system values during operation in numerical and graphical format.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The transmission type is what matters, not the machine brand. This cable is designed for the ZF Ergopower powershift transmission and therefore has broad applicability. Check which connector is fitted to your machine on site.
Application:
- Work machines with a ZF Ergopower powershift gearbox, such as wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks
- Machine brand is not a factor: Jaltest supports the Ergopower in machines where ZF supplies the gearbox
- Year of manufacture is not a factor: Work machines have no mandatory diagnostic connector requirement, so this connector remains in use
