The Jaltest ETM kit (70001008) is the complete hardware package for the Jaltest ETM, the electronic test module for components. The set includes the interface cable for the Jaltest Link V9 (70001007) and eight test cables MDC02 through MDC09, designed for EBS modulators from Knorr-Bremse and Wabco. This gives you everything you need in one purchase to test those modulators independently of the vehicle.
The ETM does more than simply read data: it establishes communication with the component as if it were the control unit itself, so you can determine whether the component is genuinely faulty or whether the fault lies in the wiring or control unit. The ETM requires an ETM licence (29701) alongside an active Jaltest subscription, can be combined with a CV or Modular subscription, and does not work on Jaltest handheld devices.

Applications and functionality
Via the interface cable in this kit, the Jaltest ETM communicates directly with the Jaltest Link V9 and thereby with the Jaltest software. The eight MDC cables are the connections to the EBS modulator you wish to test, from the first through to the fourth generation. The points below describe what this combination delivers.

What the ETM does
- Testing components:The ETM establishes communication with a brake component as if it were the vehicle's control unit.
- Identifying faults:This allows you to determine whether the component is genuinely faulty or whether the problem lies in the wiring or control unit.
- Two test types:Advanced diagnostics of complete EBS modulators, and an End of Line test (EOL).
- EBS modulators:The cables MDC02 to MDC09 are designed for EBS modulators from Knorr-Bremse and Wabco.
- Speed sensors:MDC12 available separately, and MDC13 from the Multipin kit (JTP98).
- Brake pad wear sensors:MDC10 and MDC11 available separately, and MDC14 from the Multipin kit (JTP98).
What's in the kit and what you order separately
The kit comprises one interface cable and eight test cables. The interface cable connects to the Jaltest Link V9; the MDC cables connect to the EBS modulator you are testing. Additional items are listed below.
- Interface cable 70001007:The interface cable that connects the ETM to the Jaltest Link V9. This is included in the kit, so you don't need to order it separately.
- MDC02 to MDC09:Eight test cables for EBS modulators from Knorr-Bremse and Wabco, from first to fourth generation.
- Available separately: MDC10 and MDC11 for brake pad wear sensors, MDC12 for speed sensors, and MDC100.9 for an earlier ETM version.
- Multipin kit (JTP98): Designed to measure a wider range of speed and brake pad wear sensors. In addition to the individual multipins, this kit includes MDC13 for speed sensors and MDC14 for wear sensors.
