Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway) Diagnostic Tool

What's in the box

The case contains the hardware with which you make the connection, and also the software rights that unlock the OHW module. The hardware is the same as in the standalone set 70001052; the difference between the diagnostic readers lies in the software module, not in the case. Below is a breakdown of each component, its purpose and its reference number.

Hardware

• Jaltest Link V9 (70001015): The diagnostic interface you connect to the machine's diagnostic connector, with DB26 26-pin to the cable and USB-C to the computer.
• Multipin Kit (70002001): Twenty multipins JTP01 through JTP10, each in two colours, the connection cable JTP101 and two power cables — JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket.
• OBD cable, 16-pin (JDC213.9): The standard cable for the ordinary diagnostic connection.
• USB-C cable (JDC107.9B): The connection between the Link and your laptop.
• Extension cable, 100 cm (JDC100): With a DB26 26-pin connector, the wide connector on the Link itself.
• Case (70003015): The compact version, 505 x 381 x 146 mm.

Software

• Software (29308): The one-time purchase that unlocks the OHW module.
• Licence activation, twelve months (74001014): Your right to use it in the first year.
• INFO Online OHW (29476): The technical information accompanying the software. It is included, is not available separately and is free of charge through 2026.
• Jaltest GRP: Cojali's workshop software for customers, machines and reports.

A laptop and manufacturer-specific cables are not included. See Cables and computer further down this page.

Which machines and systems does it cover

Jaltest OHW covers three categories — heavy equipment, compact equipment and stationary engines — each with its own coverage list. A manufacturer on the list means coverage is available, not that every model and year of manufacture is fully supported; many manufacturers appear on two lists because they make both heavy and compact equipment. The classification by continent refers to the manufacturer's country of origin, not the current owner.

European includes the United Kingdom, Turkey and Russia. Chinese is separate from Asian, which includes Japan, South Korea, India and Taiwan. Other includes manufacturers from Australia and Africa and the occasional name whose origin could not be determined.

The systems in the machine

• Engine: The engine control module (ECM) of the machine.
• Exhaust aftertreatment: Particulate filter, SCR and AdBlue.
• Central computer: The central vehicle computer and gateway.
• Transmission: Transmission control.
• Hydraulics: The machine's hydraulic control modules.
• Cooling: The machine's cooling system.
• Instrument panel: The display and gauge unit.
• Telematics: The telematics module and data logging.

What you can do with it

With the OHW module, you read the machine's control units, monitor live readings and command components. The system also includes a reference library with fault finders, wiring diagrams and maintenance data for the equipment you're working on.

Diagnostics and service

• Read fault codes: Systems are recognised automatically, with a fault finder for each code.
• Live readings: Sensor values displayed in real time.
• Component actuation: Including regenerating diesel particulate filters, cylinder deactivation tests and coding injectors.
• Parameters and calibration: Configure control units and adjust systems, including calibrating the tool control valve and hydrostatic unit.
• ECU data: Serial number, software version and other control unit information.
• Reset maintenance: Clear diesel particulate filter and SCR catalyst maintenance reminders after servicing.

Technical information included

• Fault finder: By fault code and by symptom.
• Technical data: For the system and machine.
• Wiring diagrams: Electrical schematics for the system.
• Maintenance data: Machine maintenance information.
• Procedures: Release procedures and work methods.
• Manual diagnosis: Troubleshooting without system self-reporting.

The difference with expert mode

Standard diagnosis means reading, measuring and controlling. In expert mode, you also modify parameters in the control units: calibrating sensors and actuators, adjusting operating parameters and regenerating the diesel particulate filter. This mode is included.

Cables and computer

The case contains the 16-pin OBD cable for the standard connector. If the machine has a proprietary connector, a separate cable is needed; in off-highway equipment, standardised OBD connections have never been mandatory, so these connectors continue to be used on new machines. The software itself runs on a Windows PC.

• Complete cable set (70002026): Cables for Mercedes-Benz and MTU, Deutz engines, Cat and Perkins, Volvo Construction, ZF Ergopower, Hitachi, Komatsu, Liebherr, and the green 9-pin Deutsch connector.
• Basic cable set (70002030): Cables for Deutz engines, Cat and Perkins, Caterpillar, Volvo Construction, Kubota, Yanmar, and the green 9-pin Deutsch connector.
• Individual cables: Also available separately, including for Bobcat, Doosan, Hidromek, Hyundai CE and Bosch Rexroth.
• Service keys: Separate service keys are available for Merlo and Liebherr.
• Computer: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are available separately in our online shop.

The cable you need depends on the diagnostic connector in your machine, not the badge on the bonnet. Check the connector on the machine itself before ordering: if it's the 16-pin OBD2 connector, the supplied JDC213.9 is sufficient; if it's a proprietary connector, a proprietary cable is required: this is included in one of the two cable sets or available as a separate order.

Licence and renewal

The software licence runs for twelve months from activation and is subsequently renewed annually with the update licence (29760). While the licence is active, you receive all new software versions and maintain access to technical information.

• Renewal: Annually, with the update licence (29760), each time for a further twelve months.
• Term: Twelve months from activation.
• Installations: Up to five PCs. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
• Registration: Upon activation, after each new software version, and thereafter every six months.
• Purchase additional module: A module purchased later is aligned with your current licence; you pay pro rata.
• Do not renew: Diagnosis continues to work on the last installed version, but access to technical information lapses. Cojali supports an expired licence for a further year.

Optional add-ons

Besides the OHW module, there are extensions that you order separately. They are not needed for diagnosis, but expand the reference library, support or tools. Below is what applies to off-highway equipment.

• Jaltest GSE: The module for airport ground support equipment. This requires an active Jaltest OHW licence; upgrading to CV or MHE is possible but not required.
• Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle (29348): The separate module for multi-purpose vehicles and sweepers — in our range, the Jaltest Sweepers set.
• Jaltest INFO Web OHW: The same reference library via a web platform, monthly or annually.
• Jaltest ATS: One year's access to Cojali's English-language technical helpdesk. Renews automatically; cancellation must be in writing up to thirty days before expiry.
• Jaltest Central Services: Tasks carried out by Cojali specialists, per procedure.
• Jaltest tools: Including the AdBlue cleaning kit for agriculture, off-highway and internal transport, for cleaning the dosing module.
