The Jaltest Marine Jetski is a complete diagnostic system for jet skis: A case containing the Jaltest Link V9, the interface you connect to the engine's diagnostic port, and the software that runs on your own laptop.
With it you access the control units of jet skis: The engine management, the brake and reverse system and the key system of Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Kawasaki. The module covers 5 brands. A new software version arrives three times per year.
This set includes everything required to perform diagnostics: The Link, the software activation and the software licence for the first year. We activate the module as soon as you receive the unit, based on the serial number of the supplied Link; you don't need to provide anything yourself. You supply your own laptop and marine cables.
KEY BENEFITS
POINTS TO NOTE
What's in the box
The case contains the hardware you use to make the connection, plus the software rights that unlock the Jetski module. The hardware is the same as in the standalone set 70001053; the difference between the four Marine diagnostic readers lies in the software module, not the case. Below is a breakdown of each component, what it is and its reference number.
Hardware
- Jaltest Link V9 (70001015): The diagnostic interface you connect to the engine's diagnostic port, with 26-pin DB26 connector to the cable and USB-C to the PC.
- Multipin Kit Jaltest Marine (70002007): Twenty multipins JTP01 through JTP10, each in two colours, the connection cable JTP101 and the power cable JDC10AM2 with battery clamps. Use these to tap directly into a connector that has no dedicated diagnostic cable.
- OBD cable, 16-pin (JDC213.9): The standard cable for the regular diagnostic port.
- USB-C cable (JDC107.9B): The connection between the Link and your laptop.
- Extension cable, 250 cm (JDC100B): With a 26-pin DB26 connector, the wide connector on the Link itself. Two and a half times as long as the JDC100 in other Jaltest cases, because aboard, the engine is rarely within arm's reach of where the laptop sits.
- Case (70003015): The compact version, 505 × 381 × 146 mm.
Software
- Software (74502005): The one-time purchase that unlocks the Jetski module.
- Licence activation, twelve months (74502017): The right to use it for the first year.
- INFO Online Marine (29479): Technical documentation for the software. Included, not sold separately, and free from 2026 onwards.
- Jaltest GRP: Cojali's workshop software for customers, vessels and reports.
A laptop and marine cables are not included. See Cables and computer further down this page.
Which engines and systems
Jaltest Marine Jetski covers the jet ski, also known in water sports as jetski or PWC. A brand in the list means there is coverage, not that every model and model year is fully supported. The regional breakdown refers to where the brand originates, not its current owner.
Personal watercraft
Well-known brands among jet skis covered by Jaltest Marine Jetski: Honda, Kawasaki, Sea-Doo (BRP) and Yamaha.
All 5 jet ski brands, split by region:
European includes the United Kingdom, Turkey and Russia. Chinese is separate from Asian, which includes Japan, South Korea and India. The split is based on the brand's country of origin, not its current owner, and engine manufacturers are assigned to their own country's region.
Onboard systems
- Engine management: The engine control unit, including the Yamaha ECM EFI, the Sea-Doo ECM and the Kawasaki ECU DFI for direct fuel injection.
- Brake and reverse system: Sea-Doo's iBR and Yamaha's RiDE, with the RiDE SCU as a dedicated control unit.
- Key system: Sea-Doo's D.E.S.S. keys, configurable as normal key, restricted-power learning key or rental key.
- Multiplex module: The Sea-Doo MPEM, which manages power distribution and security on board.
- Instrument panel: The Sea-Doo INS, the display showing operating data.
- Steering system: The steering angle sensor, required by the brake and reverse system.
- Throttle: The throttle position sensor (TPS), which determines acceleration.
The four Marine packages side by side
The four Marine diagnostic readers share the same case 70001053 and the same Jaltest Link V9; the difference is entirely in the software module. Below is what each set covers, so you can choose the one that matches your work.
What you can do with it
With the Jetski module you read the control units, monitor live data and command components. It also includes a reference guide with wiring diagrams, troubleshooting procedures and service information for the systems you work on.
Diagnostics and service
- Read and clear fault codes: The control unit's fault memory, including active, inactive and permanent codes with descriptions for each.
- Live data: Engine speed, fuel pressure, throttle position and brake or reverse system status, displayed as numbers or graphs.
- Actuator control: Direct command of injectors, fuel pump and iBR or RiDE actuators to assess their operation.
- ECU data: Part number, serial number, software version and total running hours of the control unit.
- Maintenance and service: Add, remove and configure D.E.S.S. keys as standard keys, learning keys or hire keys, and reset the service counter.
- Calibrations and learning procedures: Calibrate Sea-Doo iBR and Yamaha RiDE, teach in the steering angle sensor and calibrate the throttle valve position sensor.
Technical information included
- Wiring diagrams: Electrical schematics of the engine system, with clickable fuses, earth connections, sensors, control units and wiring.
- Technical data: Tightening torques, adjustment data, fluid specifications and information on sensors, actuators and control units.
- Repair guides by fault code: Step-by-step guidance for each fault code found, including wiring inspection, component testing and recommended solutions.
- Symptom-based fault finder: Search without a fault code, based on a complaint such as difficult starting, loss of power or overheating.
- Technical bulletins: Notifications from Cojali about common faults and recurring issues by manufacturer.
- Maintenance data: Service schedules based on running hours, with service procedures and replacement of filters, impellers, V-belts, thermostats and anodes.
The difference with expert mode
Standard diagnosis involves reading, measuring and controlling. In expert mode, you also adjust parameters in the control units: calibrating sensors and actuators, setting operating parameters and performing learning procedures. This mode is included with this package.
Cables and computer
The case includes the 16-pin OBD connector cable for the standard connection. On the water, a standardised OBD connector has never been mandatory, so virtually every engine manufacturer keeps its own diagnostic connector, even on new engines. The software itself runs on a Windows PC.
- Jet ski cable set (29985): Six items — JDC602A, JDC610A, JDC641M, JDC660M, JDC661M and JDC662M. The Yamaha cable JDC601A is not included, and the set is supplied with the Full and watercraft versions; order the cables separately for this module.
- Diagnostic cables: JDC602A for the 6-pin Sea-Doo connector, which unlocks iBR, MPEM, ECM and INS, and JDC610A for the 4-pin Kawasaki connector with the DFI ECU behind it.
- Key programming: JDC660M for Sea-Doo D.E.S.S. keys, JDC661M for Yamaha and JDC662M for Kawasaki; these are key programmer stations, not diagnostic cables.
- Yamaha diagnostic cable: JDC601A is not included in this set, but is in the watercraft cable set 70002008 and the outboard cable set 70002025.
- Extension cable JDC100B: The 250 cm cable from the case gives you flexibility between the jet ski and where your laptop is located.
- Computer: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are available separately in our online shop.
Which cable you need is determined by the diagnostic connection on the engine, not by the name on the engine cover. Check the connector on the engine itself before ordering: if it is the 16-pin OBD2 connection, the supplied JDC213.9 will suffice; if it is a manufacturer-specific connector, the corresponding cable is listed above.
Licence and renewal
The software licence runs for twelve months from activation and is then renewed annually with the update licence (74602005). As long as the licence is active, you receive all new software versions and retain access to technical information.
- Term: Twelve months from activation.
- Renewal: Annually, with the update licence (74602005), each time for a further twelve months.
- Installations: Up to five PCs. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
- Registration: At activation, after each new software version, and thereafter every six months.
- Add modules later: A module purchased later is aligned with your current licence; you pay on a pro-rata basis.
- Do not renew: Diagnosis will continue to work on the last installed version, but access to technical information expires. Cojali provides support for an expired licence for a further year.
Update licence (renewal after the free period)
The renewal price may vary slightly. Already own the device? We will ask for the serial number after your order.
Optional add-ons
In addition to the Jet ski module, there are add-ons that you order separately. They are not required for diagnostics, but expand the reference material, support or coverage. Below is what comes with Marine.
- Jaltest ATS (70809004): One year's access to Cojali's English-language technical helpdesk. Runs automatically; cancellation must be made in writing up to thirty days before the expiry date.
- Jaltest Central Services: Work carried out by Cojali specialists for you, charged per task.
- Other Marine modules: Marine Inboard (74502003) and Marine Outboard (74502004) can be added separately, or you take Marine Full (74502001) in one go, which covers all four areas.
