What's in the box

The case contains the hardware for making the connection, plus the software rights that unlock the CV module. The hardware is the same as in the standalone set 70001052; the difference between the diagnostic devices lies in the software module, not in the case. Below you'll find what each component is and its reference number.

Hardware

• Jaltest Link V9 (70001015): The diagnostic interface you connect to the vehicle's diagnostic socket, with 26-pin DB26 to the cable and USB-C to the computer.
• Multipin Kit (70002001): Twenty multipins JTP01 through JTP10, each in two colours, the connecting cable JTP101 and two power cables — JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket. Use these to connect directly to a connector for which no dedicated diagnostic cable exists.
• OBD cable, 16-pin (JDC213.9): The standard cable for the regular diagnostic connection.
• USB-C cable (JDC107.9B): The connection between the Link and your computer.
• Extension cable, 100 cm (JDC100): With a 26-pin DB26 connector, the wide connector on the Link itself.
• Case (70003015): The compact version, 505 x 381 x 146 mm.

Software

• Software (29303): The one-time purchase that unlocks the CV module.
• Licence activation, twelve months (71502018): The right to use it for the first year.
• INFO Online CV (29440): The technical information for the software. Included, not sold separately and free of charge until 2026.
• Jaltest GRP: Cojali's workshop software for customers, vehicles and reports, in Basic, Synchro and Enterprise modes; all three can be activated free of charge.

Which vehicles and systems

Jaltest CV covers four categories — trucks, trailers, buses and vans. A make in the list means there is coverage, not that every model and production year is fully supported. The continental breakdown refers to the country of origin of the make, not the current owner.

Well-known makes among the trucks covered by Jaltest CV: DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo.

Trailers

For trailers, Jaltest works not from the builder but from the installed brake system. If you search for Krone or Schmitz, you won't find them: Coverage runs through Bendix, Cojali, Haldex, Knorr-Bremse and Wabco.

Buses

Well-known makes among the buses covered by Jaltest CV: Irizar, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Setra, Van Hool, VDL and Volvo.

Light commercial vehicles

Well-known makes among the vans covered by Jaltest CV: Citroën, Fiat, Ford, Iveco, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Peugeot, Renault and Volkswagen.

All 45 van makes, organised by continent:

European includes the United Kingdom, Turkey and Russia. Chinese is separate from Asian, which includes Japan, South Korea, India and Taiwan. Other covers makes from Australia and Africa and a few names whose origin could not be determined.

The vehicle systems

• Drive systems: Engine, gearbox and exhaust aftertreatment, in the software the Antipollution group with SCR and AdBlue.
• Brakes and chassis: Service brake, auxiliary brakes, compressed air preparation, suspension, steering and chassis module.
• Electronics and comfort: Central computer, electronic modules, instrument panel, lighting, climate, heater, display, audio and starter interlock.
• Safety: The Safety group, with emergency braking assistance and lane departure warning. There is no separate ESP category.
• Registration: The Data registration group, telematics and FMS, which also includes the tachograph.

Search by component rather than by vehicle

If the same system is fitted in several makes, you access it via the component rather than the vehicle. This is useful for a brake or ABS system that is fitted by dozens of manufacturers.

• Brakes, ABS and EBS: Knorr-Bremse, Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix, Haldex, Cojali and International.
• Driving assistance and safety: Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix and Eaton.
• Suspension and tyre pressure: Wabco, Meritor Wabco, Bendix and Dana.
• Gearbox and retarder: ZF, ZF Meritor, Allison, Eaton, Voith, Twin Disc, Paccar, Navistar, Isuzu and GM.
• Engines: Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel-MBE, Paccar, Mack, Volvo, Iveco-FPT, Hino, Isuzu, Navistar, MWM, Kamaz, FAW, Weichai, Yuchai, VM Motori and PSI.
• Refrigerated transport: Thermo King and Carrier, with units for trailers and trucks.

What you can do with it

With the CV module, you read the vehicle's control units, monitor live data and command components. You can also perform maintenance tasks that require software: diesel particulate filter regeneration, injector coding, calibrations and service interval resets.

Diagnostics

• Read fault codes: The fault memory of the control unit, including code descriptions.
• Live data: Real-time values from all connected sensors displayed on screen.
• Component actuation: Control individual components to verify their operation.
• ECU information: Serial number, software version and other control unit data.
• Parameters and calibrations: Configure control units and adjust system settings.

Maintenance

• Diesel particulate filter (DPF): Force regeneration and register replacement.
• Cylinder cut-out test: Disable cylinders individually to assess engine performance.
• Injector coding: Register new injectors in the engine control unit.
• Component calibration: Recalibrate after replacement.
• Service interval resets: Reset after servicing.

The difference with expert mode

Standard diagnostics means reading, measuring and commanding. In expert mode, you also modify parameters in control units: sensor and actuator calibration, adjustment of operating parameters and diesel particulate filter regeneration. This mode is included.

Cables and computer

The case includes a 16-pin OBD cable for the standard connector. If the vehicle has a manufacturer-specific connector, a separate cable is required; these cables are available individually and are also bundled in three cable sets. The software itself runs on a Windows PC.

• Truck and bus (29362): Cables for Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and MTU, Wabco brake systems, Renault, Iveco, MAN TG series, DAF and MAN with 37-pin connector.
• Trailer (70002024): Cables for Wabco and Knorr-Bremse, for Haldex EB+/TRS and TPMS, and for trailer-CAN to ISO 7638-1.
• Refrigerated units (29989): Cables for Thermo King and Carrier, and for Carrier CAN.
• Individual cables: Also available separately if you only work on one brand.
• Computer: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are available individually in our shop.

The correct cable for your vehicle is determined by the diagnostic connector on that vehicle, not the badge on the grille. Check the connector on the vehicle itself before ordering: if it's the 16-pin OBD2 connector, the supplied JDC213.9 is sufficient; if it's a manufacturer-specific connector, the matching cable is in one of the three cable sets.

Licence and renewal

The software licence runs for twelve months from activation and is subsequently renewed annually with the update licence (29051). As long as the licence is active, you receive all new software versions and maintain access to technical information.

• Renewal: Annually with the update licence (29051), each time for a further twelve months.
• Validity: Twelve months from activation.
• Installations: Maximum five PCs. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
• Registration: On activation, after each new software version, and thereafter every six months.
• Add modules later: A module purchased later is aligned with your current licence; you pay pro rata.
• Non-renewal: Diagnostics continues to work on the last installed version, but access to technical information ceases. Cojali supports an expired licence for a further year.

Optional add-ons

In addition to the CV module, there are add-ons you purchase separately. They are not necessary for diagnostics, but expand reference material, support or tools. Below is what applies to commercial vehicles.

• INFO Plus CV (70605005): SMART Guides and wiring diagrams for the complete vehicle.
• INFO Web CV: The same reference material via a web platform, monthly or annually.
• OEM RMI: Official repair information from the manufacturer, per brand for Iveco, DAF and Scania.
• Knorr-Bremse Add-on: Knorr-Bremse's own software with original technical information.
• Security Gateway unlock: Access to vehicles with a Security Gateway, for Iveco and FCA.
• Spare Parts Search: Look up part numbers by chassis number, with exploded views.
• Jaltest ETM: Direct measurement of EBS modulators and sensors.
• Jaltest ADAS: Calibration of driver assistance systems; requires separate calibration equipment.
• Jaltest ATS: One year of access to Cojali's English-language technical support desk. Renews automatically; cancellation must be made in writing up to thirty days before the renewal date.
