The Jaltest Vrachtwagen is a complete diagnostic system for trucks and tractors: A carry case containing the Jaltest Link V9, the interface unit you connect to the diagnostic socket of the truck, and the software that runs on your own laptop.

This module covers the entire truck: The engine control, the exhaust after-treatment, the central vehicle control unit, the automated gearboxes, the braking systems containing the retarder, the air suspension and the tachograph. Coverage extends to 70 truck manufacturers, from European tractors to American and Asian makers.

This set includes everything required to perform diagnostics: The Link and the Modular Truck software activation, with the first year of use included. We activate the module as soon as you receive the unit, using the serial number from the supplied Link; you don't need to provide anything yourself. A laptop and the truck cables you'll need to arrange separately.

KEY BENEFITS

You get started complete: The Jaltest Link V9 and the Modular Truck software activation are included together with the first year of use included.
The activation we handle: As soon as you receive the device we activate the Truck module on the serial number of the supplied Jaltest Link, without you needing to do anything.
Coverage includes 70 truck manufacturers, including DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault Trucks, Scania and Volvo.
It doesn't stop at reading data: You send components to the vehicle, set parameters and carry out the calibrations and and resets

required for diesel particulate filter, injectors, gearbox and air suspension.

IMPORTANT NOTESThe case contains only the 16-pin OBD cable; the manufacturer-specific connectors on pre-Euro IV vehicles require the truck and bus cable set (29362)laptop or a separate cable, and a
is not included.truckThe module covers only heavy goods vehicles. If you also work on buses, you should add Modular Bus (293300).
or alternatively purchase the complete segment with Jaltest CV (29303)If you do not extend, the module will be blocked; this differs from Jaltest CV.
, where diagnostics continue to work on the latest version. Extension is carried out using the update licence (29051100)The software requires registration every six months; if you fail to register, it will be blocked.

What comes in the box

The case contains the hardware with which you establish the connection, as well as the software licence that the Truck module unlocks. The hardware is identical to that in the standalone kit 70001052; the difference between the diagnostic devices lies in the software module, not in the carry case. Below you'll find details of each component and its corresponding reference number .

Hardware

  • Jaltest Link V9 (70001015): The diagnostic interface that you connect to the vehicle's diagnostic socket, featuring a 26-pin DB26 connector for the cable and USB-C for the computer.
  • Multipin Kit (70002001): Twenty multipins JTP01 through JTP10, each available in two colours, the connection cable JTP101 and two power leads — JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket. These allow you to connect directly into a connector for which no dedicated diagnostic cable exists.
  • OBD cable, 16-pin (JDC213.9): The standard cable for the regular diagnostic socket.
  • USB-C cable (JDC107.9B): The connection between the Link and your laptop.
  • Extension cable, 100 cm (JDC100): Featuring a 26-pin DB26 connector that matches the wide connector on the Link itself. Useful when the socket is positioned deep under the dashboard or behind a trim panel in the cab.
  • Case (70003015): The compact version, 505 x 381 x 146 mm.

Software

  • Software (293100): The one-time purchase that unlocks the Modular Truck module. With Modular, the first year of use is included, so no separate software licence is required.
  • Jaltest GRP: The workshop software from Cojali for customers, vehicles and reports, available in Basic, Synchro and Enterprise modes; these modes are free to activate.

A laptop and the truck cables do not belong here. See Cables and computer further down this page.

Which vehicles and systems are covered

Jaltest Modular Truck covers trucks and tractors. A make in the list means that coverage is available, not that every model and year of manufacture is fully supported. The breakdown by continent refers to the region where the brand originates, not the current owner.

Commercial vehicle brands covered

Well-known brands under the trucks in the coverage of Jaltest Modular Truck: DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault Trucks, Scania and Volvo.

All 70 truck manufacturers, broken down by continent:

European (27)
Askam, Astra, Avia, BMC, DAF, Dennis Eagle, ERF, Foden, Ford, GAZ, Iveco, Kamaz, MAN, MAZ, Mercedes-Benz, Otokar, Renault Trucks, Rosenbauer, Scania, Seddon Atkinson, Sisu, Tatra, Terberg, URO, Volkswagen, Volvo and Volvo USA
Asian (13)
Ashok Leyland, BharatBenz, Eicher, Hino, Hyundai, Isuzu, Mahindra, Mitsubishi Fuso, Nissan, SML Isuzu, Tata, Tata-Daewoo and UD Trucks
American (11)
Agrale, Capacity, Caterpillar, Freightliner, International, Kenworth, Mack, Oshkosh, Peterbilt, Sterling and Western Star
Chinese (19)
BAIC, Beiben, BYD, C&C, CAMC, CNHTC-Sinotruk, Dayun, DFLZ, Dongfeng, FAW, Foton, JAC, Rowor, SAIC-Iveco Hongyan, Sany, Shacman, Tri-Ring, XCMG and Youngman

European includes the United Kingdom, Turkey, Russia and Belarus; Ford is listed as the truck manufacturer from Turkey and Volvo USA because the classification follows the brand's origin. Chinese is separate from Asian, which covers Japan, South Korea and India.

Vehicle systems

  • Engine management: The electronic engine control, from older EDC versions with in-line fuel injection pumps through to common-rail generations, including the driving regulation that coordinates engine, brakes and transmission.
  • Exhaust aftertreatment: The particulate filter and SCR and AdBlue management, with the control unit governing the aftertreatment system.
  • Central vehicle control unit: The computer that manages the vehicle network; the VECU in Volvo, the FFR in the MAN TG series, the VIC in the DAF CF and the bodywork computer BC in the Iveco Stralis.
  • Gearbox and clutch: Automated transmissions including AS Tronic, I-Shift, Opticruise, Eurotronic 2 and Ecomat 2, with shift and clutch control and clutch engagement point.
  • Brakes and retarder: Anti-lock braking and brake control systems ABS and EBS from Wabco and Knorr-Bremse, and auxiliary braking systems including ZF Intarder.
  • Air suspension (ECAS): Electronically controlled air suspension by axle configuration, with height sensors and rear axle steering.
  • Cab and bodywork: Instrument panel and display, bodywork, chassis and lighting modules, airbag, climate control and engine immobiliser.
  • Tachograph and telematics: Tachograph module and vehicle data recording.

Search by component instead of by truck

If the same system is fitted in trucks from different manufacturers, you access it by component rather than by vehicle. This is convenient for a brake control system from Wabco or Knorr-Bremse or for a ZF gearbox, which sit in the same chassis across dozens of makes.

What you can do with it

With the Truck module you read out the control units of the truck, monitor live data and operate components functions. You can also perform work that requires software access: The diesel particulate filter, the injectors, the calibrations and the service reset tools.

Diagnostics

  • Read and clear fault codes: Active, inactive and intermittent codes with their descriptions, and clear them after repair.
  • Live data: Values from connected sensors displayed on screen, as figures and in graphical format.
  • Component actuation: Operate individual components to verify their function.
  • ECU data: Part number, software version, serial number and initial installation data.
  • Parameters and calibrations: Configure control units and adjust systems.

Maintenance and calibration

  • Diesel particulate filter (DPF): Force regeneration, and reset soot and ash values after cleaning or replacement.
  • SCR and AdBlue: Reset the system and measure the pump, heater and injector.
  • Injector coding: Register new injectors with their own code in the engine control unit.
  • Cylinder cut-out test: Disable cylinders individually to assess engine performance.
  • Gearbox calibration: Adjust the shift actuators and re-learn the clutch engagement point.
  • Air suspension adjustment: Set the ride height and height sensors for the ECAS system.
  • Brake maintenance: Operate brake callipers for servicing and reset wear indicator after new brake pads.
  • Steering angle sensor (SAS): Calibrate after wheel alignment or steering system work.
  • Service indicators: Reset after a service.

Cables and computer

The case includes the The case contains only the for the standard connector, which commercial vehicle manufacturers have fitted since Euro IV. Earlier generations retain their manufacturer-specific connector in the cab, and a separate cable is required for these. The software itself runs on a Windows PC.

  • Truck and bus cable set (29362): JDC201A for the 8-pin Volvo connector, JDC203A for the round 14-pin Mercedes-Benz and MTU, JDC204A for Wabco brake systems, JDC205A for the 11-pin Renault, JDC206A for the 30-pin Iveco, JDC207A for the 4-pin MAN TG series, JDC209A for the 16-pin DAF and JDC210A for the 37-pin earlier MAN range.
  • Iveco with proprietary connector: JDC221A for the ST14D connector and JDC222A for the ST48 connector.
  • Standardised connections: JDC217.9 for the green 9-pin Deutsch type 2, which connects directly to the Link V9 with a DB26 connector, and JDC211A which maps the older 6-pin Deutsch connection from the J1708/J1587 bus to a 9-pin J1939 cable.
  • J1939 backbone: The JDC216A9 is integrated into the continuous data bus on vehicles that have no separate diagnostic connector; the cable harness remains connected throughout.
  • Diagnostic device: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are available separately in our webshop.

Which cable you need is determined by the diagnostic socket in the cab and not the make on the grille. Check the vehicle itself to see which connector is fitted in the cab before ordering: Count the number of pins and verify whether it is the standard 16-pin OBD connection.

Licensing and renewal

With Modular you purchase the software activation and the first year of use in one transaction. From the second year onwards, you renew with the Jaltest CV, each time for a further twelve months. As long as the licence is active, you receive all new software versions for the heavy-duty vehicle systems.

  • Duration: Twelve months from activation, included with the software activation.
  • Renewal: Annually, with the update licence (29051100).
  • Installations: Up to five computers. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
  • Registration: Upon activation, after each new software version, and thereafter every six months.
  • Additional module: A module purchased later is aligned with your current licence; you pay pro rata.
  • Non-renewal: The module is blocked until you purchase the update licence.
💡
Worth knowing: If you renew within fifteen days after the expiry date, the new period runs from that expiry date; thereafter it commences on the renewal date. Renewal is carried out with the Jaltest CV; we activate it within one working day on the serial number of your Jaltest Link.

Optional add-ons

In addition to the Truck module there are add-ons which you can purchase separately. They are not required to diagnose, but they extend the reference material, the support or the tools available. Below is what comes with trucks .

  • INFO Plus for Modular (70605043): The wiring diagrams and guided repair procedures. Purchase one licence for each modular licence your equipment holds.
  • Manufacturer Module (29469): Select by system manufacturer instead of vehicle make, with the update licence 29481 for subsequent years. This module is not available standalone and requires Modular Truck, Modular Bus or both; this set meets that requirement.
  • Knorr-Bremse Diagnostics Add-on (71502007): Knorr-Bremse's own software, integrated into Jaltest, for Knorr-Bremse systems in lorries and trailers, with the original technical documentation included. Renewal is via 71602007; the module locks as soon as that renewal or the modular licence expires.
  • Jaltest ETM (70001007): The external tester for measuring EBS modulators and sensors in isolation, also available as a kit with measurement cables (70001008). Works only with an active CV or modular licence and is not supplied as a standalone product.
  • Jaltest ATS: One year's access to Cojali's English-language technical support desk. Renews automatically; cancellation must be made in writing up to thirty days before expiry.
