What's in the box

The case contains the hardware which provides the connection, plus the software rights that unlock the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module system. The hardware is identical to that in the standalone kit 70001052; the difference between the diagnostic readers lies in the software module, not in the case. Below you'll find details of each component and its corresponding reference number.

Hardware

• Jaltest Link V9 (70001015): The diagnostic interface you connect to the vehicle's diagnostic socket, with 26-pin DB26 connector to cable and USB-C to your computer.
• Multipin Kit (70002001): Twenty multipins JTP01 through JTP10, each available in two colours, connection cable JTP101 and two power cables — JDC10AM2 with battery clamps and JDC20AM2 for the cigarette lighter socket. Use these to connect directly into a connector that has no dedicated diagnostic cable.
• OBD cable, 16-pin (JDC213.9): The standard cable for the regular diagnostic connection.
• USB-C cable (JDC107.9B): The connection between the Link and your laptop.
• Extension cable, 100 cm (JDC100): Fitted with a 26-pin DB26 connector, the wide connector on the Link itself.
• Carrying case (70003015): The compact version, 505 x 381 x 146 mm.

Software

• Software (29348): The one-time purchase that unlocks the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module.
• Licence activation, twelve months (74001012): The right to use it for the first year.
• Technical information: The reference manual for the software. Included and not available separately; access runs with your licence.
• Jaltest GRP: The workshop software from Cojali for customers, vehicles and reports, available in Basic, Synchro and Enterprise modes; all three can be activated free of charge.

Which vehicles and systems

Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle covers one group: multipurpose vehicles, from the street sweeper to the municipal utility vehicle. A brand in the list means there is coverage, not that every model and year of manufacture is fully supported. The division by continent refers to the country where the brand originates, not the current owner.

Multi-purpose vehicles

Well-known brands among the multipurpose vehicles in the coverage of Jaltest Multi-Purpose Vehicle: Aebi, Boschung, Bucher, Hako, Johnston, Kärcher, Ravo and Schmidt.

All 27 multi-purpose vehicle brands, split by continent:

European includes the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Bobcat is listed under American because the brand originates from the United States, regardless of current ownership. Under Other are the two names whose origin could not be established.

The vehicle systems

• Drivetrain: Engine, gearbox and exhaust aftertreatment, including diesel particulate filter, selective catalytic reduction and AdBlue.
• Hydraulics: Pumps, proportional valves and the pressure and flow rate settings of the working circuit.
• Structure and sweeping: Control of brush motors, suction fan and other working functions on the superstructure.
• Brakes and chassis: Hydraulic and electronic brake components, suspension and steering system.
• Electronics: Central computer, electronic modules, instrument panel and the CAN networks connecting them.

Search by component rather than by vehicle

A street sweeper is a superstructure mounted on a chassis, with components from various suppliers. If the same system is fitted to multiple manufacturers, you access it by component rather than by vehicle.

• Engines: Mercedes-Benz and MTU, Iveco, FPT and Kubota; for these manufacturers there is a dedicated engine cable within the cable set for multifunctional vehicles.
• Generic connection: The 9-pin green Deutsch connector type 2, the standard input on many standalone engine and superstructure control units.
• Transmissions: Hydrostatic, powershift and CVT versions, with adjustment after repair or replacement of a component.
• Hydraulic components: Proportional valves, pumps and the pressure, angle and length sensors on the superstructure.
• Exhaust aftertreatment: Particulate filter, SCR and AdBlue, with the pump, injector and heating as separate components.

What you can do with it

With the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module you read out the control units of the vehicle, monitor measured values and actuate components. You also use it for maintenance work that requires software access: the particulate filter, the injectors, the calibrations and the service counters.

Diagnostics

• Read fault codes: The fault memory of the control unit, containing information about the codes.
• Measured values: The values of the connected sensors displayed on screen, such as engine speed, hydraulic pressure and temperature.
• Control components: Operate valves, pumps, brush motors and fans individually to verify their operation.
• ECU data: Serial number, software version, operating hours and other control unit information.
• Parameters and calibrations: Configure control units and adjust systems.

Maintenance

• Particulate filter (DPF): Force regeneration, and reset soot and ash values after replacement.
• SCR and AdBlue: Reset the system and test the pump, injector and heating element.
• Injector coding: Register new injectors in the engine management system.
• Hydraulic calibration: Re-adjust proportional valves and sensors on the assembly.
• Service counters: Reset after a service.

The difference with expert mode

Standard diagnostics is reading, measuring and controlling components. In expert mode you also modify adjust parameters in the control units: The calibration of sensors and actuators, the setting of operating parameters and the regeneration of the particulate filter. This mode is included.

Cables and computer

The kit contains the 16-pin OBD cable for the standard connector. If the vehicle has a manufacturer-specific connector, then a separate cable is available; these cables can be obtained individually and are bundled together in a single cable set. The software itself runs on a Windows PC.

• Multi-purpose vehicles (70002005): The cable set for this module includes JDC203A for Mercedes-Benz and MTU, JDC206A for Iveco, JDC217.9 for the 9-pin green Deutsch connector type 2, JDC523A for Kubota and JDC526A for the 19-pin connection on FPT engines.
• Individual cables: Also available separately if you only work with one manufacturer in your workshop.
• Computer: The software runs on Windows. Cojali supplies the Jaltest Rugged PC and the A140 Rugged PAD; both are listed separately in our online shop.

Which cable suits your vehicle is determined by the diagnostic connector in that vehicle, not by the manufacturer on the bodywork. Check the connector on the vehicle itself before you order: If it is the 16-pin OBD2 connector, then the included JDC213.9 is sufficient; if it is a manufacturer-specific connector, then a manufacturer-specific cable is needed: This is included in the cable set 70002005 or is available to order separately.

Licence and renewal

The software licence runs for twelve months from the activation and is then renewed annually containing the update licence (29349). As long as your licence remains active, you'll receive all new software versions and retain access to the Technical information.

• Renewal: Annually, using the update licence (29349), each time for a further twelve months.
• Term: Twelve months from activation.
• Installations: Maximum of five PCs. Jaltest hardware is always required to run the software.
• Registration: Upon activation, after each new software version, and thereafter every six months.
• Additional modules: A module purchased later will be aligned with your current licence; you pay on a pro-rata basis.
• No renewal: Diagnostics will continue to work on the last installed version, but access to technical information expires. Cojali continues to support an expired licence for a further year.

Optional add-ons

In addition to the Multi-Purpose Vehicle module there are add-ons available for separate purchase. They are not necessary to diagnosevehicles, but they extend your support, the knowledge or tools. Below you'll find what's included for multipurpose vehicles each option.

• Jaltest ATS (70809004): One year's access to Cojali's English-language technical helpdesk, available for AGV, MHE, Multi-Purpose Vehicle and Marine equipment. Runs automatically; cancellation must be made in writing up to thirty days before the expiry date.
• Jaltest Central Services: Tasks carried out by Cojali specialists on your behalf, charged per service, such as reprogramming specific control units.
• Jaltest University:Cojali's training programme, from foundational courses to advanced specialisation.
• Jaltest tools:Individual measurement and diagnostic tools from Cojali, available for separate purchase.
• Additional modules:If you wish to add commercial vehicles, agricultural, earthmoving, internal transport or marine applications, each comes with its own software activation and licence; these are aligned with your current licence.
