This component converts a single 15-pin connector (according to ISO 12098) of the towing vehicle into two separate 7-pin connectors: a Type-N (24N, ISO 1185, black) and a Type-S (24S, ISO 3731, white). The Adapter operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 80°C and weighs 465 grams.

The Adapter functions as a Y-splitter that distributes the signals from the 15-pin connection over the two 7-pin systems. The black 24N connector is intended for standard lighting functions, while the white 24S connector serves the additional circuits, such as power supply for the ABS system, reversing lights, and permanent power.
