The Adapter Cable is designed to establish a direct connection with the Intelligent Servo Module (ISM), also known as the Direct Select Module (DSM), used in various Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The cable features a specific connector for the ISM module on one side and a standard 16-pin OBD2 connector (female) on the other side. This enables communication between the module and compatible diagnostic or programming equipment.
This cable is specifically intended for work on the ISM module outside the vehicle, also called 'on-the-bench'. For powering the module during these procedures, the cable is equipped with a separate DC power connector. This allows reading, erasing, programming, or renewing the module without it being installed in the car. This process is often necessary when replacing or repairing the ISM.
