This DTC clearer for Volvo Euro 6 from CAN-BUS EMULATOR clears stored fault codes from the control units of a Volvo FH, FM, FMX, FL or FE. You plug it into the diagnostic port, and within a short time it sends a clear command to, among others, the engine control unit (EMS), the AdBlue system, the braking system (EBS) and the vehicle computer. No laptop, software or licence is required.

It is designed to quickly clear the fault memory after a repair or fault, for example on the road or at a location where no diagnostic tool is at hand. It only clears stored (non-active) fault codes. As long as the cause is still present, an active fault will return. The module does not detect any fault and does not change anything in the control unit software; a diagnostic tool is still needed to find the cause.

Applications and functionality

The DTC clearer is designed for workshops, mobile mechanics and fleet managers with Volvo trucks who want to quickly clear the fault memory after a repair or temporary fault.

What it does

  • Clearing fault codes: Clears stored fault codes in the supported control units.
  • After repair: Removes old messages once the cause has been resolved.
  • Repeat: If a message returns, repeat the procedure or find the cause with a diagnostic tool.

What it does not do

  • No reading: Does not display fault codes, live data or reports.
  • No adjustments: Does not change software or settings in the control units.
  • No active faults: A fault that is still present will be reported again by the control unit.

How to use it

  1. Ignition on: Switch the ignition on, but do not start the engine.
  2. Plug in: Insert the module into the diagnostic port and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Ignition off: Switch the ignition off and remove the module.
  4. Wait: Wait 30 seconds and start the engine.
  5. Check: If a message is still present, repeat the steps or find the cause with a diagnostic tool.

According to CAN-BUS EMULATOR, this version works on Volvo trucks from 2014. The FH4 and FM4 with Euro 5 engine are also supported.

Works great

Works great, essential if you're far from home...and want to come home without expensive repairs. Emission countdown reset. And done.
Maybe a small description with it, it keeps resetting continuously. So after a number of rounds I just pulled it out.
