The Autool BT760 is a battery and starter system tester. It performs the four tests any workshop needs – battery, starter, charging and load – and delivers results on paper. The built-in thermal printer means the receipt with date, time and vehicle ID rolls out as soon as the test is complete.
This eliminates transcription errors and prevents disputes: your customer receives a measurement, not an opinion. The unit measures by conductance, so you don't need to discharge the battery to determine its condition. Results display on a 3.2-inch colour screen in fourteen languages, and it draws power directly from the battery via the clamps.

Application and functionality
The challenge with battery diagnostics is that customers can't see your expertise. "It's dead" sounds like a sales pitch, especially if the battery started the car this morning. A printed result with measured values, date and vehicle ID changes that conversation: not your word against their doubt, but a measurement they take home.
The Autool BT760 supports the following test and analysis functions:
- Battery test: Assesses cold cranking power, internal resistance, charge level and battery condition.
- Starting test: Measures actual starting voltage and the lowest value during cranking.
- Charging test: Checks the alternator, rectifier and diodes based on charging voltage.
- Load test: Measures power delivery with all consumers active; also works on battery packs, DC power supplies and UPS systems.
- Print function: Outputs results to paper with date, time and vehicle ID that you enter.
- Stored data recall: Previous measurements remain stored in the device.
- Language selection: Menu available in fourteen languages.
What you see on the display
- Voltage: Current battery voltage in volts.
- Cold cranking current: Measured value in amperes, alongside the standard and the value you have set.
- Internal resistance: In milliohms; the lower the value, the better the battery condition.
- Charge level and lifespan: Both shown as percentages.
- Overall verdict: Good, recharge and retest, or replace.
How to use it
- Connect the clamps: Red to positive, black to negative; the unit powers up automatically.
- Select the battery type: Flooded lead, AGM with flat plates, AGM with wound plates, GEL or EFB.
- Select the standard: CCA, IEC, EN, DIN, JIS or GB, with the value shown on the battery.
- Start the test: The screen displays the result with an assessment.
- Print the receipt: With date, time and the vehicle ID you entered.
Special features and capabilities
The four test modes include safeguards that prevent measurement failures or misreadings.
- Reverse polarity protection: If you connect the clamps the wrong way round, the tester, battery and vehicle remain undamaged; simply reverse them and test again.
- Contact check on the clamps: If a clamp isn't making proper contact, the test won't start. Wiggling it back and forth establishes the connection; poor contact would otherwise produce unreliable results.
- Usable outside the vehicle too: The load test works not only on starter batteries but also on battery packs, DC power supplies and the standby battery in an uninterruptible power supply.
Measurement ranges
The standard you select determines the range in which the device measures. Choose the standard printed on the battery itself; placing an EN value against the DIN scale will give a result that makes no sense.
