The Autel PowerScan PS100 is an electrical circuit tester for vehicles that works on all electrical systems from 6 to 30 volts. The device is designed for diagnosing wiring problems, switches, fuses, lights and trailer lighting. The tester features a TFT color display with 160x128 dpi, a built-in flashlight for working in dark spaces and an audible tone indicator that makes results audible without visual contact with the screen.
After connecting the test leads to the vehicle battery, voltage, current and resistance can be read directly via the test point. By operating the switch, positive or negative current from the battery is sent to the test point, which directly activates electrical components such as cooling fans and relays without jumper cables. The built-in oscilloscope function displays signal patterns from camshaft, crankshaft and injector sensors, among others. An internal circuit protection cuts off the output in case of overload and can be restored via a reset button. The included 20ft extension cable makes it possible to measure across the entire vehicle length without having to find a suitable ground point each time.

CONSIDERATIONS
✕For remote battery measurements, the 20ft extension cable must be fully extended, which requires considerable space in tight workshop environments.
✕When overloaded, the internal circuit protection cuts out and must be manually restored via the reset button before further testing can resume.
✕The 6 to 30V operating range excludes high-voltage systems in hybrid and electric vehicles.
✕The device is powered by the vehicle and cannot operate independently; an external power source is needed if the battery is dead.

- Tracing short circuits: Locates shorts across the entire vehicle length without sacrificing fuses during the search.
- Current, voltage, and resistance measurement: Reads values through the test point for diagnosing wiring, power supplies, and components up to 200 kΩ.

Good to Know: When activating high-load components such as starter relays or cooling fans, always connect the additional ground cable directly to a clean ground point first.
