The Autel MaxiDas DS900 update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the DS900 with one year. The DS900 is the wired version of the DS900 range, compatible with vehicles from 1996 onwards. Between software updates, the diagnostic device itself remains unchanged, whilst the vehicle fleet arriving at your workshop continues to evolve. The device offers ECU coding and guided functions and supports DoIP and CAN FD, the protocols used by newer vehicle generations.

An extension covers the vehicle coverage, the service procedures and the coding files. The licence renewal itself is digital and requires nothing from you except the serial number of the DS900; we attach the licence to it, typically within one working day. Without renewal, the device remains functional on the most recently installed version, but no new content is added.

To understand precisely what a renewal does for the DS900, it helps to divide the software into three parts. There is the vehicle coverage, there are the function files and there is the online side. All three advance with an active licence.

What a renewal provides

  • New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
  • Expanded service functions: Procedures such as oil service, electronic parking brake, steering angle sensor, battery management and DPF regeneration continue to connect with newer vehicles as manufacturers modify their systems.
  • Coding files: The coding and adaptation procedures follow the modules released by manufacturers.

What happens without renewal

  • No further updates: The update menu remains empty, even when the manufacturer releases new versions.
  • Cloud services: Reporting and support running through the manufacturer's servers may cease.
  • What remains: Everything the device can do at that moment, it will continue to do; the DS900 does not lose value, it simply does not become newer.

How does it work in practice?

In practice, it's four steps and then wait for the download. We only need the serial number from you.

  2. Processing: We apply the renewal to your serial number, usually within one working day of your order.
  3. Connect the device: Switch on the DS900, connect it to wifi and leave it on charge whilst the download runs.
