The Autel MaxiCheck MX900 is a wired fault code reader equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen and Android 11 operating system. This diagnostic tool delivers OE-level diagnostics across all accessible vehicle modules for more than 80 American, Asian and European vehicle makes. The MX900 supports the latest communication protocols, including DoIP and CAN FD. A 1-year software update licence is included with purchase.

The device features AutoVIN technology for rapid vehicle identification and offers functions such as actuator control (bi-directional testing) and more than 40 service and maintenance functions. The software enables you to generate detailed pre- and post-scan reports, providing a complete overview of vehicle status before and after repair. The system is designed to manage workshop data, including customer and vehicle information.

Diagnostic functions:

The MX900 performs comprehensive system diagnosis at OE level across all available electronic systems in the vehicle. This includes systems such as engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, instrument cluster and more.

• Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from all control modules, including generic, manufacturer-specific and pending codes.
• Live data: Displays real-time sensor and module data in various display modes, including text, graph and analogue gauges. You can record and replay data streams.
• Actuator control (bi-directional testing): Commands components and systems directly to test functionality, such as activating relays, injectors, fans or performing system-independent tests.
• ECU information: Retrieves detailed control module information, including type, version numbers and other specifications.
• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) scanning: Automatically identifies the vehicle via the AutoVIN function.

Service and maintenance functions:

This diagnostic tool supports more than 40 service and maintenance functions. Available functions vary by vehicle make, model and year of manufacture. The software provides access to a wide range of reset, calibration and adaptation procedures.

Engine and powertrain:

• Oil and service interval reset: Resets the vehicle's service and oil interval system after maintenance.
• Throttle body learning: Resets and calibrates the throttle position sensor after cleaning or replacement.
• Injector coding: Programs new injector codes into the engine control unit (ECU) for correct fuel injection.
• Transmission adaptive values reset: Restores automatic transmission learning values to factory settings.
• Crankshaft position sensor learning: Executes a procedure to teach the ECU the crankshaft sensor tolerances.
• Fuel/air ratio adjustment (A/F): Adjusts the fuel/air ratio for optimal performance and emissions.
• Start/stop system configuration: Activates or deactivates the engine's automatic start/stop function.
• Electronic water pump activation: Activates the electronic water pump for cooling system bleeding.
• Relative compression test: Executes a test to measure compression per cylinder relative to each other.
• Variable geometry turbo (VGT) learning: Calibrates the variable geometry turbo actuator.

Exhaust systems:

• Diesel particulate filter regeneration (DPF): Forces DPF regeneration to burn accumulated soot and clear blockages.
• AdBlue system reset (SCR): Resets the SCR system after AdBlue top-up or component replacement.
• EGR valve learning: Adjusts exhaust gas recirculation valve values after cleaning or replacement.

Braking:

• Electronic parking brake (EPB) service mode: Opens and closes the brake callipers of the electronic parking brake for brake pad or disc replacement.
• Brake bleeding (ABS): Executes an automated procedure to remove air from the ABS braking system.

Steering and suspension:

• Steering angle sensor calibration (SAS): Calibrates the sensor that measures steering wheel position and rotation angle.
• Air suspension calibration: Sets the ride height of the air suspension and calibrates the level sensors.

Body and electrical:

• Battery registration (BMS): Registers a new battery in the Battery Management System after replacement.
• Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) reset: Programs sensors and resets TPMS after tyre change or sensor replacement.
• Key and immobiliser learning (IMMO): Programs new keys or remote controls into the immobiliser system.
• Seat calibration: Calibrates the positions of electrically adjustable seats.
• Sunroof and window initialisation: Resets and programmes the opening and closing positions of the sunroof and electric windows.
• Headlight adjustment: Performs basic adjustment of adaptive headlights.
• Rain and light sensor initialisation: Calibrates the sensitivity and operation of the rain and light sensors.
• Transport mode deactivation/activation: Enables or disables the vehicle's transport mode.
• Change language: Adjusts the display language of the instrument cluster or infotainment system.

Safety systems:

• Airbag module reset: Resets the airbag module and removes crash data following a repair.
• Adaptive cruise control (ACC) calibration: Calibrates the radar sensor of the adaptive cruise control system.
• Yaw rate sensor calibration: Performs calibration of the sensor that measures the vehicle's rotation around its vertical axis.

Hybrid and electric:

• High-voltage battery diagnostics: Reads status information and fault codes from the battery pack of hybrid and electric vehicles.
• High-voltage system deactivation/activation: Safely switches the high-voltage system off for maintenance and back on afterwards.

• Coolant bleeding: Performs an automated procedure for bleeding the cooling system.
• Adjust mileage: Corrects the mileage on a new instrument cluster following replacement.
• Change tyre size: Programmes the new tyre circumference into the vehicle modules for accurate speed display.

• Record and playback data: Allows live data to be recorded and played back later for analysis.
• Pre- and post-scan reporting: Generates reports documenting the vehicle's condition before and after diagnosis or repair. These reports can be printed via Wi-Fi.
